NYC summers hate your weekends. I analyzed 3 years of Central Park rain data to see if the feeling was real. It was. 27 of 38 summer weekends had measurable rain. That’s 71%. Friday was the rainiest day of the week, with rain on 43.6% of summer Fridays. Basically worse than a coin flip for your evening plans. Sunday had the highest rainfall volume of any day, averaging 0.17 inches. It may not rain every Sunday, but when it does, it commits. Thursday was objectively the best day to be outside in NYC: lowest precipitation, clearest skies, least weekend-related misery. The wildest stat: 70.8% of rainy Sundays were preceded by a gross Friday or Saturday. The weekend basically telegraphs its own downfall. I built a full dashboard using NWS Central Park data with every weekend tracked and every raindrop counted:

i think more redemption arcs should present a true challenge as in "what if your loved ones don't forgive you, would you still want to change?", i feel so much male character redemption is carried not by their actions but by women priorizing love over themselves.

@THEKIDMERO They stole my family's brownstone and then sued us when we asserted rightful ownership with the county clerk, producing our 50 year old deed. They had been renting our property for years without our permission! This is rampant in Black New York.

During the Harlem Renaissance, white folks loved to “slum” in working-class, Black spaces where queer life thrived in NYC. They did the same thing in Chicago, Memphis, and NOLA. So, yes, domestic sex tourism was/is a thing in the metropolis.

this was probably said in jest but what if we thought of the metropolis as a variant of sexual tourism? perhaps, gentrification and displacement coalesce as a sexually forced migration or sexual dispossession.

Study of neuro #LongCovid patients found pTau-181 (marker of Alzheimer's/brain injury) increased by 59% after COVID. Interestingly, levels increased more AFTER 1.5 years from infection (only 15% increased in the before-1.5 year time period). thelancet.com/journals/ebiom… 1/

The BARE minimum NY can do is pause all eviction proceedings stemming from deed theft. These homeowners are being evicted from their own homes because fraudsters stole their property. Councilmember Chi Osse is demanding the governor pause these evictions.
