BREAKING: The US will stop putting new pennies into circulation by early next year. Businesses will need to start rounding up or down to the nearest 5 cents, the US Treasury said in a statement. A penny currently costs 4 cents to make. Cutting production is set to save $56M/year.

This morning I’ve already answered 21 texts, 10 emails, did payroll seminar, started finalizing call sheets with 1st AD, confirmed vendor pickups, did work for 3 different feature films including one I am directing on Wednesday. And still have to edit a promo for a short film. 🚬

The birth rate in 1850 was almost 300 births per 1,000 women of childbearing age. In 1950 it was 106. Today it’s 55. Half of what it was 75 years ago. 20 percent of what it was 175 years ago. We need to start taking this problem seriously before we march into our own extinction.
