I’m laying in bed sick and the news is actually making me feel better. It is a strange day.

Spent a little time last night reviewing what is out there about the @Apple Vision Pro. I am excited to see what people who need eye tracking for accessibility can do with it.

I get that a label printer isn’t exciting but it’s so nice to just be able to use something without it being a thing I will have to learn how to make work or find some way to keep track of the parts of.

I couldn’t find my ancient label printer so I bought a @niimbot D110 and geez - good product design isn’t dead! The product is simple, sturdy and intuitive, the box helps everything well for storage and the app isn’t a crappy after thought!

@roganhamby I finally got around to reading it, and my quibble is the underlying assumption that the development model is an abstract preference and not something that provides tangible benefits.

I also agree with "Ultimately, libraries will not choose products based on an abstract preference for a development model." but feel that the merits of transparency on PII, security and bugs isn't acknowledged in the section.

I frequently disagree with Marshall Breeding but I find agreement with him in this quote, "To remain competitive, proprietary systems will have to deliver similar interoperability, innovation, and flexible APIs at moderate pricing."
