@daveskippy @I_amMukhtar @DillyHussain88 You don't think that calling someone a "dirty pakistani ba**ard" is racist?
English

@I_amMukhtar @DillyHussain88 So saying Pakistani is now racist?
English

@gregallenRTE Also worth noting his victories have been in the biggest events when there is probably less pressure on him to perform/win. A psychologist would tell Shane to concentrate on performance rather than result..control the controllables!
English

@gregallenRTE Fair play to him..he isn't a choker but you can see that he wants it almost too much! Steve Davis once said about snooker "if you can play as if it means nothing when it means everything then you are hard to beat" and I think that applies to Shane.
English

Clearly gutted, skipping media would’ve been the easy route to take especially as Shane
has been in this position too frequently recently. Instead he fronts up in the only way he knows. Doesn’t do monosyllabic responses even in a pit of disappointment. Just heart on his sleeve..

Mad respect for Shane Lowry for doing media after booting away the Cognizant Classic. Tip of the cap. "I had the tournament in my hands and I threw it away. What more can I say?"

@TrackAthletesie @KieranMcC_SS Would that indicate that she may be suited to a move up to 1500m in the future?
English

@KieranMcC_SS A 2:05 relay leg is pretty impressive an hour after running 2:01!

@KadeemBarrett99 Stacey run you see! Adeleke tried her on that final curve but had nothing x.com/trackgazette/s…

Stacey Ann Williams 🇯🇲 runs a big PB of 35.92s over 300m at the Tyson Invitational! Rhasidat Adeleke 🇮🇪 set an Irish Record of 36.30s to finish 2nd.

@KATIE_kirky Nice article...before your time but I remember Caroline O'Shea was an Irish 400m runner and stepped up to the 800m a few months before the 1984 Olympics...think she ran 2:00 and may have made the final?
English

Is ‘you should run an 800’ the most irritating statement for a long sprinter?? Femme Bol didn't and decided to take up the challenge. The most intriguing 2026 athletics storyline if you have a spare five minutes 👇
RTÉ Sport@RTEsport
Femke Bol will embark on a new challenge on Sunday afternoon, running the 800m for the first time in her career. @KATIE_kirky reflects on the significance of the task and wonders just how fast she can run #rtesport rte.ie/sport/athletic…

@dillon_corkery Realy enjoy your updates Dillon - always good to see the underdog do well and well done today...would love to see you get your own chance at getting a result at some stage..

@gregallenRTE As you say it is a completely different type of training - however I would have thought 800m to 1500m was much more difficult yet so many athletes do both...from Coe/Ovett era to someone like Cian McPhillips now..
English

@rogiefleming Sharlene is actually a very good 200m runner converted very successfully up to 400m. She’s a sprinter and to convert to being an 800 metre runner requires distance training which is very, very different. 800 metres effectively a hybrid sprint/distance event - tricky to get right.
English

@gregallenRTE True but I've vague memories of Caroline O'Shea in the 1984 Olympics at 800m but she had a similar profile to Sharlene as she was a 200m/400m runner and ran 2:00 in her first year at 800m - think she almost got to Olympic final?
English

@gregallenRTE Yep just thinking Sharlene's physique (not overly muscular) seems more suited to 800m as well as the finishing kick that she seems to have judging by the relay..
English

@rogiefleming Massive difference between 400m and 800m training. Still a fair difference between 200m and 400m but there’s a somewhat stronger correlation there…
English

@rogiefleming @updates_irish Mansell seems to have switched he had a tricolor during the worlds
English

@gregallenRTE And ironically I think that Sharlene would make a great 800m runner!
English

@gregallenRTE As you say Lauren was running strong throygh the line of the 200m last night (after two 60m races?) so think she'd have stamina to be a great addition to the relay..Rhasidat, Sharlene and Sophie have great quality (when injury free) but we need a 4th quality runner.
English

@PST_Sport @DundalkFC Looks good - is that FIFA Quality artificial pitch or FIFA Quality Pro?
English

Great progress at Oriel Park! Sand infill complete and ready for rubber infill for @DundalkFC's new FIFA Quality artificial grass pitch.
Another step closer to delivering this world-class surface for the League of Ireland club. 💪⚽

@davidcareygolf @Cdosseygolf @acaseofthegolf1 Congratulations - delighted for you! Does that mean you will have some category of Korn Ferry card next year even if you miss the final qualifying cut?
English

@Cdosseygolf @acaseofthegolf1 They did incredible work to even get 54 holes in,
Course is already practically underwater and more rain to come later today and tmr
English

Unbelievable decision to cancel the 4th round at Dothan 2nd Stage Q School site. Guys pay thousands of dollars to play for their careers and we can’t find a way to fit in 72 holes? @acaseofthegolf1
