Building AI glasses is the easy part. The real challenge is creating something people actually want to wear every day. That means supporting prescription lenses, offering the right fit, frame styles, and colors that complement different faces. But it's not easy to scale. That's exactly what I'm fixing with a new hardware product launching in the coming days.

News! Meta is rolling out a mandatory software update for its Ray-Ban Meta glasses that directly addresses our reporting from last month. If the glasses detect that the recording LED has been physically tampered with or drilled out, the camera will be disabled.

This is me talking to my computer without making a sound. After just a month of collecting data, our model is already approaching dictation in accuracy. We were surprised to see that it generalizes to unseen participants as well! (1/n)

JUST IN: @meetcarely is turning elder care into passive alerts instead of constant check-ins. It’s a screenless wearable that learns normal routines, tracks key health signals, and alerts the family when something seems off. - detects falls, SOS button presses, and safe zone exits - uses 6 biometric sensors to track heart rate, blood oxygen, skin temperature, and motion - learns normal sleep, activity, and daily routines over time - alerts family when patterns change from the usual baseline - works independently without a smartphone, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth - gets up to 10 days of battery life and charges on the wrist Priced at $249/year with the device included.

Ray-Ban Meta made AI glasses fun and social. NIMO made them forgettable on purpose. 👓Meta: camera + open-ear audio, great for calls and content. 👓NIMO (Shenzhen-built): zero camera, true prescription support, ~29g lightweight titanium, discreet visual AI for meetings and translation. Looks and feels like regular high-end glasses. After the Meta wave, the next iteration wave in China is all about stripping back to what professionals will actually wear 8+ hours without thinking twice. Founders shipping physical AI: which trade-offs are you making — camera for context or privacy for adoption? #PhysicalAI #WearableAI #SmartGlasses #shenzhenfoundry

You can literally see the cameras, flexible PCBs, battery, and connectors. This is the kind of hardware that shows how fast Chinese teams are iterating on wearable AI after the Ray-Ban Meta wave. The real challenge isn’t just making it look clean — it’s hitting the right balance of compute, battery life, thermal, and cost while still being manufacturable at scale. If you’re building edge AI wearables, these public teardowns are gold for understanding what’s actually possible right now. #AR #VR #AIglasses #shenzhen #wearable #OEM

We spent just $50 for this photoshoot. We didn’t have the money to spend on crazy product shoots and product videos. These are my friends from my hometown in Kerala. They are wedding photographers. We created this setup to take the photos and videos of Nimo.
