With the "band is getting back together," what does this mean? - Plans are advancing w/o @SecScottBessent heavy involvement (unlike in Trump 1.0 where Mnuchin was a bottleneck requiring detailed review of everything GSE related). He will review, approve, and take to Trump for public release, IMO, by the end of the year. - Pulte gets to take a back seat with detailed planning, which frankly isn't anywhere in his wheelhouse (and that's okay!), and focus on things like his crusade against Powell, crypto/FICO/etc. and caramel popcorn at Freddie Mac. Stop harassing him about uplist and the ERCF! And for shareholders? - Common: @MarkCalabria said "I don't know of any scenario where, you know, the American taxpayer doesn't own 90 plus percent of the companies." SPS LP is getting converted to $FNMA $FMCC common equity. Risk at today's price. Sorry, @BillAckman, et al. - JPS: A lot of ways it could play out and most result in par value by mid-Trump 2.0. IMO, the market is pricing these fairly given all variables, maybe a little light given very high probability of release in Trump 2.0. (6/6)

Some $FNMA $FMCC $FNMAS $FMCKJ etc. connections... In an interview earlier this year before he joined OMB, @MarkCalabria said that a clue for Trump 2.0's GSE reform focus will be if Treasury’s Head of Domestic Finance has mortgage finance experience, in order to advance reform while Bessent focuses on more important issues (i.e., tax, trade). I’m 52 and I can honestly say that ADHD was never ever heard of in my youth, it was also very rare to hear of anyone with autism, so why is it that now hundreds of thousands of kids have these conditions? It is baffling to me!

“Canadians are not fully aware whether he could find himself in conflicts of interest for his work at Brookfield, a firm with US$1 trillion in assets under management. Or more precisely, the billions in capital Carney personally helped raise for net-zero projects around the globe. In his role, Carney was entitled to Brookfield share options and deferred shared units, but also potentially tens of millions in undisclosed “carried interest” in Brookfield. Carried interest is essentially bonus payments based on a fund’s performance. Brookfield CEO Bruce Flatt wrote in a recent letter to shareholders: “Put simply, carried interest is our share of the profits realized on an entire fund, subject to that fund exceeding a minimum target return for clients. If we meet fund expectations, we get 20% of the profits.” Despite repeated attempts, Brookfield Asset Management and Carney’s transition team have declined to clarify if the new prime minister still possesses any financial interest in Brookfield. Flatt went on to say that Brookfield estimates the value of its total carried interest at around US$30 billion. Financiers interviewed for this article said that it was not out of the question that Carney could benefit from tens of millions of dollars from these profits that are undisclosed to shareholders. They also said those assets were incompatible with a blind trust, since Carney would know what those funds are invested in and how his decisions as public officer holder, specifically on policies affecting net-zero and clean energy investments, could affect their value.”

Taking credit for the achievements of the Harper government is one thing. But claiming the legacy of a man who has since passed—who cannot defend himself or set the record straight—is beyond disgraceful. The credit belongs to Jim Flaherty and Stephen Harper. Full stop. I won’t apologize for having a strong opinion on this. I am not just a spouse—I worked under the Harper government and saw firsthand the exceptional leadership of Mr. Flaherty and Mr. Harper in steering Canada through one of the most challenging economic periods in our history. What’s happening right now is not just misleading—it’s appalling.

@StephenPunwasi @StephenPunwasi for Mac users, a hard reset is pretty easy (easier than on Windows), so even if soldered on, it's no an impossible workaround.

@StephenPunwasi Yes and no. I ensure my "personal" laptops have replaceable storage; storage needs always evolve, and I can't buy a device where the primary drive is soldered. For work laptops, most devices are replaceable ("most"). Chromebooks are terrible; I try not to use them for real things

Fun lesson. John McAfee, the anti-virus guy, used to give laptops as gifts to his “friends”— police officers, politicians, & other powerful folks. He installed logging software first, then repackaged the laptops as new. And that, kids, is why you always wipe a new laptop.

My parent's bill at their pharmacy recently. Getting older and staying healthy is only for the wealthy. Everyone else gets shafted. $200 for Prevnar 20 (pneumococcal vaccine) $200 for Arexvy (RSV vaccine) $200 for Shingrix (shingles vaccine) $1000+ for each Paxlovid course (1-2x a year) $1000/m for Ozempic What are people on fixed incomes supposed to do?

Common. Sense. Neighbours across Evergreen today shared their frustrations with rising costs and the crushing carbon tax. We’ll axe the tax. Build the homes. Fix the budget. Stop the crime. And we’ll bring home Canada’s promise – a country where hard work earns a powerful paycheque that buys affordable food, gas, and homes, in safe neighbourhoods.

At least 67k small businesses on Shopify use Canada Post, and will be affected by them going on strike right on BFCM weekend. Canada Post has a government monopoly on delivering to P.O. boxes and is the only carrier supplying rural areas. This should not be allowed.
