@tarkataxiis @caulin001 @aldamu_jo US citizens? Pretty much all countries call us American. If I go anywhere in the world…and tell them I’m American. There’s 0 follow up questions or any confusion as to what country I’m from. Everyone knows…

🇻🇪 A regular soldier with a manpad could have downed couple of helicopters. Stopping these helicopters is extremely easy even for an insurgency, not even to speak about an army. This is so blatant … seems the military just let this happen.

@JonKrawczynski This is pretty much exactly right. I’ve learned that whatever I see people say on Twitter or in social media in general, just doesn’t reflect reality in the slightest on pretty much every topic. To me this was a perfectly executed 10/10 ending.

I’m one of the few who doesn’t watch Stranger Things, but this dynamic of reality vs Twitter applies to pretty much every other walk of life. People are profoundly miserable on this profoundly miserable app. I have to constantly remind myself it’s not real life.
Jason Gallagher@jga41agher

I watched the Stranger Things finale today in a packed theater with my family. It was quite a scene. There were tons of people wearing merch, just so excited to see how the thing ends. And by the time the credits rolled, it was pretty clear that everyone loved it. There were big cheers, big laughs and lots of tears (not from me tho I'm tough 😤). I talked to my real life friends afterwards and they also seemed to enjoy it. I was honestly moved by how cool of a moment this was. An original idea that grew into a worldwide phenomenon that so many people loved. AND they gave us a solid ending. How cool is that? How rare is that? Will we ever see something like that again? Then I check Twitter... And it was just lots of negative commentary from people who seem to get off on hating on things that normal people enjoy. And that's when it hit me. Twitter is our upside down. It's a lot like real life but much darker and full of negativity. Trolls are demogorgons. Elon is Vecna. And all of us are just trying to live our lives in peace with our friends. In conclusion: Stranger Things is a really fun show and I'm grateful for all the good times it gave my family. I honestly think we grew closer bc of it. Shoutout everyone who was involved in making it. PS: I'm clearly Steve in the analogy above.

@drake_kalemeera @Scott_Herman I don’t even remember that part lol. That was forever ago. Also it’s a show…I’m just watching it, being along for the ride. I don’t care for picking it apart and analyzing it. I watch, I enjoy and when it’s over I do something else…

@Scott_Herman Right. Quick question though. How did Papa survive when the demo jumped on him back in season 1?

Stranger Things is one of the few shows I’ve watched since Supernatural that I’ve really enjoyed the finale. Fans are going to rewatch all 5 seasons over and over again because they know they will get the closure they are looking for in the finale.

@Scott_Herman do you post this to cope or get validation online? This finale was garbage you know it was but you are afraid to admit it to yourself first. This level of cope is damaging to your mind, admit it and move on with life.

@RelayTS That’s exactly why I thought. Like…we’re being told a story, just watch an enjoy it. It’s an awesome story. I don’t know what plot holes people are finding…but I’m not finding or looking for anything…I’m just enjoying a fun story and had a great time. Think it was a 10/10 end

This is the last thing I’ll say about the hate on Stranger Things 5. Most of the backlash is just coping. People are mad because a prediction, storyline, or character ending didn’t go the way they wanted. So now it’s nonstop nitpicking — I’ve literally seen complaints about Derek being “out of breath” inside Henry’s mind. At some point you have to admit you’re not critiquing the show anymore, you’re critiquing your own headcanon not being canon. People can’t just sit back and enjoy the story for what it is, and honestly, it’s embarrassing to watch.

Stranger Things was a generational event with almost impossible expectations surrounding its finale. The Duffer Brothers have evolved into successful blockbuster directors whose enduring legacy will be mostly doing right by their cast of characters. Our review: bit.ly/4aH39zL

@IGN Successful? They completely botched the finale, and everyone's too scared to say it. Those impossible expectations were met with an unearned nostalgia trip 🙄.

It bothers me when people say the “modern” school environment isn’t suited for boys, implying something has changed to make it so. School has always required sitting still and completing assignments. Are we that incapable of just admitting girls are simply better at something? And this is often from people who *hate* it when you try to explain away difference in outcomes as a “product of systemic issues” in any other context. I do think we should do more to help boys succeed in school. But I wish the people who held this belief alongside the belief that we should never change anything to benefit a group who isn’t currently excelling would realize what morons they’re being.

@The_Feminist_TM @AndrewHagmark It's not "breaks" they need, it's proper full on physical training. Boys need much more exercise than they're getting. Sitting around all day is soul destroying for them. Schools used to have a longer day, and much more sports & activity.

@Terraphant @The_Feminist_TM As a teacher, I can tell you that I have a significant amount of boys among my students that are biased against women and who wouldn't dare challenging a male colleague like they challenge me. They don't want to respect rules coming from me. And that'd why they're failing.

@The_Feminist_TM @ButteMTMc Movement is nice, but that’s not what the poster above is talking about. We needed active energy release to be in a state to properly receive info. Yard fights were a big part of that, same with hard PE classes. Watch Dazed and Confused, to catch a glance.

@ColchesterDeon @elonmusk Sure. I did not start the comparison between one of the best, highest quality cars in the world and the fast accelerating electric consumer vehicle. It was the aspirational marketeer. Let's have his company build some proper cars and win a few Le Mans titles first.
