We call it the halving because the price of #BTC usually gets cut in half. What did you guys think it meant?

I remember when people panic-sold #Bitcoin because Covid-19 was the end of the world. Many of us created generational wealth by buying that fear right before the 2020 halving. The drop from $10K -> $4K was a gift I'll never forget. And history feels like it's starting to rhyme. War is inflationary and will be paid for via debasement. In fact, it provides a convenient excuse to monetize debt. Good luck to all bond holders and Bitcoin panic sellers. You're going to need it.

@gruppe5 It’s not just wishful thinking. It is already happening. We are already piloting such a solution in various African counties at @ClinqGold. Not all CBs are the same. Developing countries see value in #AntiInflationary assets.

@romansemko Nice thoughts, but they won't happen. The CBs like to control their debt driven system until it collapses sooner or later. If the CBDCs were based on gold as an underlying asset, the price of gold would immediately rise and the CBDCs would be in competition with the EUR. 🤷‍♂️

In my opinion, an optimal institutional-level #DigitalCurrency should tick the following boxes: ✅ #AntiInflationary by being backed by real assets like #Gold through #Tokenization. ✅ #Interchangeable by being part of a #MonetaryUnion of #CBDC with the same underlying asset.

✅ Complimentary. Never replace local currency. Learn from the #EUR disaster. There are sound economic reasons for a local, inflatable currency. Both can co-exist and be used for their purposes.

✅ #Blockchain-based for full #Transparency, maximal #Trust through absolute rule of immutable law. ✅ #Accountability through effective separation of powers within the multilateral #Governance system. A triangle of rights and obligations between auditors, issuers, and vaults.

2) Replacing local currencies? The #Euro's challenges are a cautionary tale. Different economic stages in a union call for tailored solutions, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Reflecting on last August's #BRICS event in #SouthAfrica: a single currency seems off the table for now, #gold-backed or otherwise. Two key hurdles: 1) No consensus on which central bank should issue it—lack of a #governance framework.

Our approach brings two major advantages: 1) #Independence in cross-border trading from traditional systems like #SWIFT and $USD. 2) A multi-issuer-governed system for enhanced fairness and integrity. It's a step towards a more accountable and independent digital economy.

Picture this: a #gold miner or #MoMo operators like @mntza, @airtelafrica, or @orangeafrica as a #DigitalCurrency issuer. It's like creating a gold-backed digital #Euro, offering stability without the drawbacks—exciting possibilities for the future of #FinTech

I believe #CBDCs shouldn't be just a central bank thing. At @ClinqGold, we're pioneering a new path where entities with gold reserves can issue digital currency, leveraging #blockchain. This approach could redefine the digital currency landscape.
