A 64-year-old man was shot in the face during a home invasion in Hartbeespoort on Sunday, and is currently in a serious condition in hospital. The incident occurred at around 01:00 when four robbers broke into the family's home in an estate on Schubart Street, gaining entry by breaking a kitchen window. Two suspects remained outside while the other two confronted the couple in their bedroom, demanding cellphones and money. The couple's 14-year-old grandson was grabbed by the neck by one of the robbers, and the man was shot in the face when he told the robbers there was no money in the house. The robbers fled, and the family alerted security and emergency services. The man was taken to a hospital in Brits before being transferred to Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg for specialised care. Paramedics examined the 14-year-old boy, who had marks on his neck, but he wasn't seriously injured.

The other implications of the gunning down of Chinette, is that other lawyers will now refuse to take on similar cases, or even push for real justice. Kids will now not want to study law out of fear for their lives. Rest in peace to the 35-year-old Chinette Gallichan 🙏🏽❤️ ---------------- Chinette Gallichan was a lawyer in mining giant, Sibanye-Stillwater’s labour litigation department. She was involved in several cases relating to wage payments and unfair dismissals. On the day she was killed, she was representing retrenched workers who were seeking compensation from a mining firm. Gallichan had graduated with a law degree from the University of South Africa and a postgraduate diploma in labour law with distinction from the University of Johannesburg.

Let me explain what just happened 👇 5 minutes before the President announced a halt to attacks on Iran… someone placed a $1.5 BILLION bet on stocks going up and dumped $192 million in oil. 5 minutes… These trades were 4 to 6 times larger than anything else in the entire market. Whoever did this wasn’t guessing. You don’t risk $1.5 billion on a hunch. There was zero public indication this announcement was coming. No leaks. No press. Nothing. The only people who knew were in the room when the decision was made. Someone in that room picked up a phone. And within minutes they made more money than most Americans will earn in a thousand lifetimes. In a single trade. On a war that cost you $4+ a gallon gas and $16 billion in tax dollars. American citizens funded this war. Politicians are profiting from it. This is not the first time. Every major announcement from this administration has had massive suspicious trades right before it dropped. Tariff reversals. Policy shifts. War decisions. This is the most blatant insider trading operation in the history of American politics. It’s not even close. And it’s happening over and over in broad daylight. You would go to federal prison for trading on a tip from your cousin. These people are front running war decisions with billion dollar bets and nobody will ever ask a single question. Nobody will be investigated. Nobody will be charged. By tomorrow this will be buried under the next satisfying headline. Just like last time. And the time before that. The game is rigged.
