I disagree. America replaced a king with a Constitution in part to check the ability of the executive to unilaterally start wars. In waging war on Iran unlawfully, Trump is perpetrating a high crime. We are all poorer because of it, too. "No Kings" as shorthand is coherent.
Sohrab Ahmari@SohrabAhmari

I appreciate that “No Kings” represents popular mobilization against a presidency that has gone off the rails, but — it’s such an inchoate cringe-boomer message.

I've been dunked on by Noah Kulwin. Yay? Given his politics (super anti-Zionist, anti-Israel), I think he's making fun of me for feeling bad that a Jewish school has extra security. Or he's just anti-pool noodles.

As an American who cares about maintaining US prestige, I have to say: You don't put US prestige on the line like that, man. My God. This is the most irresponsible presidency of my lifetime. The Bushies were *not* like this. They weren't this haphazard, willy-nilly.

Found this while going through an old wallet just now. From 1995. I don't think it's possible to look more smug in a picture.

Nobody knows anything and Carlson could simply be hallucinating, but I confess that I absolutely *adore* the theory of Tucker being used as an unwitting counterintelligence dupe to fence bad information back to the Iranians. Alas, probably too good to be true.

The World Baseball Classic semifinals are set. Sunday night: Dominican Republic vs. United States, 8 p.m. Monday night: Italy vs. Venezuela, 8 p.m. The winners will play Tuesday at 8 p.m. This has been a tremendous tournament. And with these matchups, it's only getting better.

@foster_type Possible, as I allow. Still not the same thing as the central allegation: They "did not plan for the possibility of Iran closing the strait."

If there was a failure of imagination here (big if) it was likely because over the last 8 years Khamenei stage-managed and scaled responses to Israeli and American attacks in a relatively rational way. If you were Trump, what lesson would you learn from Midnight Hammer resulting in basically no pain for the United States? As I said last night, Iran's conduct thus far has pretty obviously revealed that Khamenei was a restraining force for the IRGC and the hardliner clerics.

New: The Pentagon & National Security Council significantly underestimated Iran’s willingness to close the Strait of Hormuz in response to US military strikes while planning the ongoing operation, sources to me, @Phil_Mattingly, @kylieatwood & @Kevinliptakcnn. Top Trump officials acknowledged to lawmakers during recent classified briefings that they did not plan for the possibility of Iran closing the strait in response to strikes, per 3 sources. cnn.com/2026/03/12/pol…
