Republic of Ireland - higher house prices, higher mortgage deposits, higher grocery prices, higher utility bills & health charges. No national security. Less economic security (remember UK rescue loan to ROI 2010 3.25 bn euros). Northern Ireland is home & can be better than ever.
Leo Varadkar@LeoVaradkar

In this article @EmmaCDeSouza sets out what Northern Ireland would bring to the table economically in the event of unification. Also, I think the economy in the North would grow faster within a New Ireland and would catch up over time :- the euro (cheaper mortgages and business loans), with the IDA and low corporate tax (more investment and jobs), with higher public sector pay and pensions (more money in people's pockets and in the shops etc) thejournal.ie/readme/united-…

The order now issued by the High Court is crystal clear, and confounds the complete misreporting of this case. Trust @BBCNewsNI & @bbcnewsline in particular will be covering this clear & unequivocal defeat for Belfast City Council 👇

This cabal continue to arrogantly defend their indefensible decision, and it has taken a High Court declaration to finally put them in their place. “Every councillor who endorsed the unlawful scheme put in place should be apologising to the citizens of Belfast, in particular the Jewish community.”

Celtic SFA issue their pro-Celtic propaganda. Contrast this with their hyperbolic victimhood statement defending cheating Beaton. They can hardly bring themselves to criticise the violent thuggery of Celtic.

Scottish FA release audio and statement on the end to Celtic v Hearts “In the context of what unfolded – which is verified by the footage and the Match Incident Report submitted to the Scottish FA – the match official clearly communicated that the match was ended and not abandoned.” scottishfa.co.uk/news/scottish-…

John Swinney’s comments are absolutely appalling. Telling people to “move on” while SF continue to glorify their shameful role in the past is disgraceful. My heart goes out to the Scottish families affected by PIRA violence. How can the First Minister be so cruel and insensitive?

We are all Hearts fans today. Everyone passionate about sport, who believes in winning on merit without cheating, will be hoping today that the cheaters don’t prevail. Either way, Hearts are the true champions. The world knows it.

This is the party who for two decades waged a culture war to “break the b*****ds [unionists]”. Their supremacy is absolutely off the scale; they think they can relentlessly target PUL culture & tradition, but as soon as they get a bit back they are outraged!
The Irish News@irish_news

Michelle O’Neill has accused the DUP of being inherently “anti-Irish” and spending every day working against anything to do with Irish national identity. The First Minister’s comments came as DUP deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly claimed Sinn Fein was mounting a “concerted attempt” to target her party’s Stormont ministers and portray them as opponents of the Irish language. 🎥 PA

Distraction politics to cover up their own incompetence. Sinn Fein Ministers failing to deliver, so lash out to cover their own blushes.

⚠️🚫NEW: Michelle O’Neill - 'The DUP are anti-Irish. The DUP will never change, they have form.' 🎤🎥First Minister @moneillsf tells Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 she believes the DUP are “anti-Irish”. It comes after a court heard Stormont will not implement an Irish language strategy within this Assembly mandate. Communities Minister @gordonlyons1 appeared before a Stormont committee yesterday, where MLAs and the minister clashed. Minister Lyons says he is not hostile towards the Irish language. Last month, Sinn Féin accused the DUP minister of cutting £90,000 in annual funding for a project that helps councils with Irish-English street sign translations. However, Minister Lyons said there had been “no decision” by him or any departmental official to do that. Speaking from the Balmoral Show, Michelle O’Neill hit out at the DUP.

SFA statement is a disgrace. There is no responsibility taken or reflection upon the cheating by John Beaton which is understandably inflamed the entire footballing community. Threats are never justified & must be condemned. But robust criticism, condemnation of cheating & seeking- through public scrutiny- to hold accountable those displaying blatant bias, is entirely legitimate. John Beaton should be permanently banned from refereeing.

The 1998 Belfast Agreement is explicitly clear on the terms for a referendum. The Northern Ireland Secretary of State has the power to call a referendum only if: ‘……it appears likely to him that a majority of those voting would express a wish that Northern Ireland should cease to become part of the United Kingdom’. (Constitutional Issues, Annex A, Schedule 1, Paragraph 2) There is no credible evidence to suggest that a majority of people in Northern Ireland are in favour of it leaving the United Kingdom, so the media must not allow Sinn Fein to propagate a myth that the UK Govt is obligated to convene a referendum just because Sinn Fein want one. The vast majority of people in Northern Ireland want it to be successful and remain within the United Kingdom. Recent polls also show people living in the Republic of Ireland do not view Irish Unity as a priority issue either. Facts matter. x.com/MaryLouMcDonal…

John Beaton is a cheat. No other word will do. Every single decision, every ‘mistake’, always goes Celtic’s way. If Martin O’Neill had any self-respect as a proper football man he’d call it out & say he wants to try & win fairly. Instead, he’s happily attached himself to whatever corrupt scheme is going on.
Chris Sutton@chris_sutton73

Now the dust has settled.. The reaction from many high profile people is way over the top. John Beaton was advised to go to the monitor and saw that the ball hit the arm in an unnatural position Bottom line is people would hate to see Celtic win the title again and that is all.

Hearts deserve to win the league. But they won’t. They’ve been cheated & shafted. The world knows. Celtic will get their tainted title, delivered via the hand of referees who have been corrupted, but everyone knows they cheated to get there. Martin O’Neill’s respect as a football man has been tarnished beyond repair given he has happily been involved in whatever corruption has occurred to buy off the officials. I’d rather be a Rangers, or even Hearts, fan and lose the league, than be part of that shameless corrupt cheating cabal. We will never be like them. And be grateful for it.
