The Arts Council withdrawing funding from ENO unless they move north seems like a pretty solid example of levelling down. Up would be to build and fund another ENO in Manchester, wouldn’t it?

@sarajcox My daughter put a raisin up her nose when she was little, about 4? She told me she had a raisin up her nose. I got some tweezers and pulled on something up there. It eventually became dislodged and out came out a grape! Like a small but actual grape! It was quite something!

I keep struggling to find a term to describe this place where refugees have been put. There seem to be tents. People sleeping on the floor. Not allowed to go to the toilet. Not getting food. Man on radio said he was there for 3 weeks...some kind of....camp?

I’m backing Boris. He got the big calls right, whether it was ordering more vaccines ahead of more waves of covid, arming 🇺🇦 early against the advice of some, or stepping down for the sake of unity. But now, Britain needs him back. We need to unite to deliver on our manifesto 1/2
