the world needs more clear eyed personal responsibility. if you eat meat (particularly from industrial farms) you should be comfortable admitting that you don't care about all animals in the same way because that is just necessarily true?

veganism is not inherently a morally superior position. the vegetables and fruits you consume are also harvested via immense cruelty & exploitation, not to even mention indigenous practices or food deserts. if you care about animals, the position to take is anti-capitalism.

@Nickhasdoubts i definitely believe that farm animals and humans can have a mutualistic relationship. and it may even be morally acceptable to kill cows for meat if you give them a happy life beforehand. but happy cow meat is not available at scale. maybe it cannot even be produced at scale

@tittyleds yeah i suppose ideally you would only source your vegetables from local and/or sustainable farms. but there is a massive financial difference between choosing to not eat meat and choosing to not partake in industrial farming wholesale
