Last reminder: I'll be talking about Perlmutter's 35 petabyte all-NVMe parallel file system in 25 minutes at #HPCIODC21. And I'll be delivering it in the full Frankfurt-jetlagged style. What day is it today again?

#ISC21 @ISChpc have done an outstanding job of building a virtual #HPC conference (rather than a bunch of pre-recorded Zoom sessions) - enough to convince me to try to immerse myself in the conference as much as possible this week, as if I were in Frankfurt. What about you?

TPM ponders the future of x86 vs #ARM at @awscloud I wonder if #cloud is the route for @Arm to get #datacenter acceptance? With Marvell & Nuvia out, who will step up to make @Arm-based CPUs for #HPC? @FujitsuHPC is an option Will @AmpereComputing target HPC?
Tim Prickett Morgan@TDaytonPM

With AWS being the dominant designer and "seller" of Arm-based servers thanks to Graviton2, we ask: How much X86 iron can Arm displace at AWS? nextplatform.com/2021/03/17/can…

Intrigued by the amazing A64fx processors in Fugaku, the #1 supercomputer in the world, and want to try them yourself? Well now you CAN! The 3rd Isambard hackathon will run March 23-24, and will uniquely include hands-on access to all 4 major compilers: Fujitsu, Cray, Arm and GNU

@DrJGrant I have seen this exascale milestone being set and pushed back over and over again. When I was doing my MSc at @EPCCed we were looking at first exascale to come in 2018. However, I am bit more optimistic with this timeline.

PSA: Don't forget to go shopping for (good! Belgian! enough!) beers in preparation for the @FOSDEM weekend. Can't do that Saturday morning, those beers will need some time in the fridge! Oh and yeah, prepare an overview of talks you don't want to miss. fosdem.org/2021/schedule
