Makes me cringe when people use 'guesstimate' - there's literally already two words you can use. Estimate for an informed guess, just guess for uninformed. Combining them makes NO SENSE

I ended my last #dnd game in the worst place structurally. I ended at an open player decision point, meaning they can take the game in so many ways now. Prepping for the next session will be... fun? What do you do when found in a similar situation? What would you plan/prepare?

@jisaacgadient God forbid male gamers having to try and empathise with a female protagonist! Men are far too dumb to understand anything that isn’t themselves remember 🤦🤦

@addie_plays_ Spend a little time thinking about that characters “why”. I don’t click with a character when I don’t understand WHY they act the way they do - why are they abrupt, or why are they emotionally cold or why are they noble to a fault.

So it can be easy to get into character if you click with your char. But how do you handle it if you find you’re not meshing well with a character you made for a ttrpg?

A colleague and I are working on an art competition for our users and I’ve based the challenge around a little narrative I’m writing (with an audience choice vote that finishes the plot!) ✍️ It’s like a tiny teeny glimpse into narrative design work and I’m loving it 🤩

Does anyone else suffer with this specific burnout loop? Spending the whole work day distracted by the creative portfolio stuff I want to do that evening, but by evening I’m burnt out from thinking about the creative things all day 🥲 It’s a really problem for me right now!

@dannyanimator It’s so sad - like every few days I’m seeing another game go bust 😕 I work in a small, games adjacent studio so I feel quite secure myself but man it looks rough out there!!

@PhoenixBlackNow I spose if you’re saying they were rude to you when you tried to help then yeah I get your point! I just think your comment came off as a little gate keeper-ish. As an aside, I’d argue decorating cakes is a fab basis for oil painting 😅

@rosiepose_rt The equivalent in this case is someone with no experience wanting to do oil painting, an artist such as yourself suggesting they learn from some resources, & them saying 'I don't need to learn because I decorated cakes, saw a lot of paintings and took an art class 30 years ago.'
