Really nice to see this Dartford Warbler at Beddington Farmlands over the weekend. It took ages to get it to sit still though, and my hands were freezing… 🥶

Super happy to see this Black-faced Bunting after an extremely quiet autumn so far at Spurn, makes up for all the days counting Robins and Dunnocks!! 😂

So happy to finally clinch this Hume’s Warbler at Spurn today! My first BB rarity find, still buzzing 😅😅

Small consolation for dipping the Needletail at Scarborough was this 1st-winter Caspian Gull north past Scalby Mills at 17:00

Thought my day couldn’t get any better when I picked up a Richard’s Pipit flying south at Spurn but a few hours later I had a buzzy wagtail go south over Chalk Bank! Some discussion as to whether it’s a Citrine or an Eastern Yellow Wag, recording attached below: #spurnbirds

Very happy to see this dark morph juvenile Honey Buzzard fly SW over my @BeddingtonFarm patch yesterday. First confirmed record for the site since 2016. Mostly living and working in Yorkshire now so very lucky to have a patch tick during my limited time here.

Migfest 2025 was really fun! Red-necked Phalarope (lifer!), Cranes, Curlew Sandpipers, Garganey, Pink feet, Osprey, Arctic Skua, Tree Pipit, Redstarts, Crossbill and 000s of Meadow Pipit the highlights! Was fantastic to have such amazing company as well!

Curious for 2nd opinions on this male Small White butterfly from The Warren at Spurn this morning. Noticeably curved wing margin, with subtle black veins running parallel with the edges of the discal spot, bringing Southern Small White/"mannii" to mind. @savebutterflies

A cloudy lunchbreak walk of Kilnsea and The Triangle was quickly brightened by finding this Wood Warbler in the treetops of Kilnsea Churchyard, eventually showing well in some stunning afternoon sunshine by the Crown and Anchor car park. #Spurnbirds @spurnbirdobs @RareBirdAlertUK

This small group of Bar-tailed godwits flew in to Beacon ponds late evening in some beautiful light

As another Swift movement kicked off this morning, this Bee-eater performed some incredible flybys and aerobatics as it toured the Warren area at Spurn, eventually heading south after a brief visit to the Driftwood area too. #Spurnbirds @spurnbirdobs

After the heavy rain cleared, butterflies soon perked up in the late afternoon at Spurn, with the area's 2nd White-letter Hairstreak and 3rd Purple Hairstreak both around the treetops near the Kew viewing area, though often distant and mobile. #Spurnbutterflies @spurnbirdobs

Dragonflies stole the show at Canal Scrape at Spurn today with at least 4 Red-veined Darters (including 2 ovipositing pairs) and the recording areas's 4th ever Lesser Emperor briefly tailing a male Emperor past the hide! Absolute scenes! #Spurndragonflies @spurnbirdobs
