The Spectator's hyperbolic claims that Scotland would face "societal collapse" if we had independence is just part of a wider problem of the Unionist media shitposting about Scotland in general as they face defeat in a few days time bellacaledonia.org.uk/2026/05/01/les…

Sky Sports commentator saying Mo Salah now level with Steven Gerrard as club record scorer in derbies with 9. Ian Rush got 25. Football existed before 1992.

McIlroy had been a bit quiet since Bethpage. This is one of my favorite quotes from RORY, with Paul McGinley offering so much insight on when/why McIlroy plays his best: “When his heart is engaged in something, and it really means something to him, he generally delivers. And then he goes into these flat periods in his career—he’s had lots of them. It’s an Irish thing to be melancholy, and he goes into these periods of melancholy, but it’s not that he’s not caring—it’s almost like he’s in a slumber. And then, all of a sudden, he ignites. And when that heart goes on fire, that’s when he comes out and does something that amazes us. If he has that quiet look of determination combined with that joyfulness of chasing a goal, that’s when the magic happens.”

The "Elizabeth Line", the "King Charles III Coastal Path"......why do we keep massaging the egos of this ridiculous, dysfunctional family by attaching their names to achievements to which they contributed nothing?

🤣🤣 One of the great responses to a reporter in history! JAPANESE REPORTER: Why didn't you tell Japan before the Iran war? PRESIDENT TRUMP: "Why didn't you tell ME about PEARL HARBOR?!" "You believe in surprise much more-so than US!"

@Richard_Fitz @HLTCO Aye. I’ve actually got a special edition of the Herald from ‘07. Lisbon + 40. There’s a great eyewitness account from the Inter dressing room at half time. A morgue. Utter silence. Fatalism. One nil up but oh God we are in so, so much trouble.

@rossauchenree @HLTCO Fact. I love watching footage of the two teams for the '67 European Cup final in Lisbon emerging from the tunnel underground before kick off. What a way to go into battle.

A question for my followers… If you could only recommend one football book for people to read, what would it be?

@Richard_Fitz @HLTCO I actually read it during a visit to Lisbon where yer man HH met something of a Waterloo against Jock Stein and the lions. Loved discovering that the ‘67 final is still a huge part of the city’s folklore. Only football can do that.

"When I hear the phrase 'Scotland’s shame' I think – as a Stranraer fan – what the hell has it got to with me? "Indeed, for the vast majority of Scottish football fans – myself included – our experience of the game is wonderfully positive, and completely safe." 👇
