This should be time for reflection for England, so for what is worth let me share with you a take from someone who is not English but knows English football culture perfectly having played many years in the Premier League You might agree or disagree, but it links to what Tuchel said about the team being passive. And if there is a hint of truth in it, maybe responsability should be taken beyond the coach, and even beyond the changing room (maybe the excess of confidence entering the game, the difficulty to see problems when victories come, the abusive search for culprits, all those things that we have seen in the past are also partly to blame) Here it goes: "Guillem, I can't help repeating something I've told you before: England can never truly function as a team because they don't understand the word "solidarity" or the concept of collective football. They always freeze when the decisive moment comes. They go out of every major tournament (World Cup or Euros) in the same way: not just losing, but making a mess of it. They always freeze when the decisive moment comes. There's a historical pattern. At some point in the game they abandon each other. Every player starts looking after himself, trying to save his own skin. Today they left the goalkeeper completely exposed. They all disappeared from the game, almost as if they were trying to avoid being singled out. Can you say who was at fault for the goals? Exactly. The best thing for them is that no individual gets blamed. Collectively, they were responsible. Everyone goes home relieved that it won't all fall on John or James. That it will all fall on Tuchel. Meanwhile, Messi can hardly run, yet he spent the entire second half happily playing on the edge of the box. Enzo, too, kept finding space to shoot from the edge of the area — his trademark — until one finally went in. An absolute disaster." Should we discuss?

He ran to Bayern to get his lil league title count up but whenever it’s a real back against the wall moment he’s nowhere to be seen. Champions League final. 2020 Euros final. Penalty against France in 22. 2024 Euros final. Today. Chump. Keep running from the grind.

Why is Vuskovic not getting more heat from us fans. He’s a kid and demanding he starts, and when he didn’t get his way demanded to leave. Massive ego, badly advised. Hope he’s a huge flop at Brighton.

@ThomasEvansAdur Wrong in the head 😂 Honestly I can see both sides and am not that fussed. Just feels like if he were older we'd be mad at him. Good money though.

@Clayspuds Yeah I guess. Just feels like if it were a player at a different age we'd be furious. In my memory whenever a player believes he is too good to be here we have always been upset. Still, we got good money.

@rossbridgeford Brilliant season last year. Believes he's ready for first team football which we can't offer. Not sure what's wrong with that. We got a good fee with sell on clause, and first option. Worked out fine for both parties.

People praising Tuchel’s interview for calling out England’s performance, For me, Tuchel set us up to fail, but we won anyway. Kane & Bellingham are getting him out of jail. His management was utterly chaotic in that game, but his ego won’t admit it.

@JanAageFjortoft Was a two handed shove. Of course it shouldn’t be given. Spence’s pen would be a free kick anywhere else on the pitch and on another day would have been given. On balance the refs were fine.

Gabriel Agbonlahor (on talkSPORT) believes Sandro Tonali is just joining Tottenham 'for the big bucks'. Spurs smashed their transfer record to seal a £100million deal to sign the Italy midfielder from Newcastle on Monday. Tonali expressed his excitement to play at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in his first interview as a Spurs player, to which host Jeff Stelling quipped: "He could have done that as a Newcastle player." Tonali said: "I can't wait to play in this stadium. Because I played against with AC Milan in the Champions League [and] Newcastle. I found the atmosphere great; I found every time the full stadium." But former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor wasn't having any of it. "Atmosphere? Do me a favour!" he reacted. "Don't make me laugh. "I went to the game last season, Spurs against Aston Villa. The quietest stadium I've probably ever been to. Zero atmosphere. "You've [Tonali] gone for the big bucks; you've gone for the money that Newcastle probably wouldn't give you. "To leave Newcastle to go to Spurs is a crazy decision. Let's just call it as it is." "Senesi, same," he continued. "You've gone there on a free transfer for the money. Andy Robertson, you've gone there for the money. So has Tonali for the money. Do me a favour. The stadium..." Disagreeing with Stelling that Tonali had been swayed by 'an aggressive, forward-thinking manager' in Roberto De Zerbi, Agbonlahor added: "One thing I will say: Italian manager in De Zerbi, I'll give him that. Players joining Spurs 'for the money' "But really, Jeff, he's gone for the big, big bucks. Spurs have got money to spend...as a Spurs fan, would I want players coming for the money? That seems to be happening." #COYS #THFC

Worth remembering that Spurs has generated £1.1bn in net cash from its day-to-day operations over the last 10 years (this is after paying wages, operating expenses, and interest). By comparison, Aston Villa had MINUS £208m net operating cash flow over the same period.

Not good for us lot Might be less of a threat to us But seriously No other teams with these rules can compete. Things have to change. Spurs have 2 really poor seasons and can spend as they please. Yes we know how much money you’ve made,But #nufc and #avfc with money can’t spend

Bruno Guimaraes has informed Newcastle United of his wish to leave St James’ Park and join Arsenal. The Premier League champions are stepping up their pursuit of the 28-year-old and have indicated a willingness to pay up to £60million for the midfielder. The Athletic reported in June that Arsenal had a verbal offer — worth below £60m — rebuffed. Exclusive story from @David_Ornstein ⬇️ 🔗 nyti.ms/4wyBMQ9

I’m told Bruno is extremely emotional following Brazil’s early exit from the World Cup. This is probably his last chance to secure a big money move to a team competing for title and Champions League. But he does not want to tarnish his legacy at Newcastle and will only leave if clubs can agree a price. Newcastle valuation is around the £100m fee they received for Tonali. No chance they sell at £50-60m Very unlikely Bruno goes down the same path as Isak to force an exit but he would like a move to Arsenal. More to follow @TeleFootball #nufc #arsenal

Feel there is going to be more bad news for #nufc regarding Bruno Guimareas saga. Claims from his camp that he wants to leave. Still no contact from Arsenal club to club.
