Prior to the 2013 adidas Grand Prix in NYC, I asked David Rudisha's coach Bro. Colm which was harder: breaking 1:40.00 for 800m or 2:00:00 for the marathon. "1:40," he said w/o hesitating. Turns out he was right. Nearly 13 yrs later the 800m WR is still 1:40.91. 📷@janemonti

For reasons I can't really explain I've studied the final round of the 1996 Masters like it's the Zapruder film, I've seen the CBS & BBC version and because I'm an idiot I even watched it in Japanese once. All I can tell you is he doesn't win any of them but I remain fascinated

When I wave thanks to another driver, I give them a Vulcan salute. Don't really care if they notice, or if they think I'm a sad nerd: I'm wishing them to "live long and prosper" so morally I'm doing a positive thing. Would be nice if someone returned it though, even just once.

Donating to political parties or causes should be illegal full stop. Publicly fund parties with a modest annual hard spending limit, ~£5 million for major parties, lower for smaller parties. The cost to tax payers would be minimal but it would stop billionaires buying elections.

In the opening credits of The A-Team, B.A. is sat in a car and menacingly looks over his right shoulder, placing his arm over the car seat. As he does, his elbow bumps the seat and breaks the fluidity of the motion. It annoyed me as a kid, and annoys me to this day.

To be honest I can't wait for this Ashes to be over. No close games, poor coverage television wise and looks like we will lose 4-1 to what is probably the worst Australian team since the mid eighties. The manner of these undroppable, unloveables dismissals makes it worse.
