Scottish. Left wing. A bit wordy. None of the opinions expressed here represent those of me.

Ha. No I've not slept a wink yet and done a LOT of interviews. What's keeping me going? The fact we took on the billionaire donors - and our local plumber won! The movement is building. 🚀 Join.greenparty.org.uk

- @zackpolanski has presumably been up all night. He's done the rounds of breakfast shows this morning and not put a foot wrong. He's head and shoulders above any other national politician at this stage.

Dear Lucy Powell, I have enjoyed our exchange of letters about which of our parties is best placed to stop Reform. Hannah Spencer MP and I trust that you agree that this question has now been resolved once and for all. Thanks, Zack Polanski
Lucy Powell MP@LucyMPowell

This by-election is bigger than day to day politics. It’s about stopping Reform’s toxic politics coming to my city. The Greens misleading claims, dodgy bar charts & briefings risk letting them in the back door. Only voting Labour can defeat Reform. My letter to @ZackPolanski 👇🏻

Reform blaming "Muslim sectarianism" for the Greens stunning by-election victory. Apparently Muslim sectarianism just helped a socially progressive party led by a gay Jewish man win! As well as being the most toxic party, Reform confirming they are also the UK's worst losers.
Politics UK@PolitlcsUK

🚨 NEW: Reform and Labour respond to the Greens winning the Gorton and Denton by-election: Matt Goodwin: "We are losing our country. A dangerous Muslim sectarianism has emerged. We have only one general election left to save Britain. Vote Reform every chance you get. I will continue the fight. I will always fight for you. I will stand at the next general election" Nigel Farage: "This election was a victory for sectarian voting and cheating. Matt Goodwin was a great candidate for us. Roll on the elections on May 7th. It will be goodbye Starmer and goodbye to the Tory party" Labour: "This result is clearly disappointing. By-elections are normally difficult for the party of Government, and this election was no different. We have had thousands of conversations over the last few weeks and we know the majority of voters here did not want the poisonous politics of Nigel Farage and Reform. We will continue to deliver a programme for government that tackles the cost of living crisis families are facing, creates opportunities for young people and invests in our public services. The politics of anger and easy answers offered by the Greens and Reform won’t deliver this. We will move forwards with a relentless focus on delivering the renewal communities across Britain want to see"

BAFTAs host Alan Cumming delivered a message after the ceremony was interrupted by Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson yelling the N-word while Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were on stage: “You may have noticed some strong language in the background there, this can be part of how Tourette’s syndrome shows up for some people as the film explores that experience” Cumming later said he was sorry if anyone was offended and that “the tics are involuntary” (via Deadline)

What happened last night at the BAFTAs is a genuine example of competing rights – on the one hand, including someone with a disability who has every right to attend, and on the other, protecting people from being assailed by racial slurs. I honestly don't know how anyone's meant to square that.

@TomAandTom1 I am, I just don't agree. If you don't feel like watching his film, that's up to you. I understand. But you've got this one wrong and it's a much more enlightening watch than you might think. If I'm wrong you'd lose nothing, but if I'm right and you've refused to watch?

#BAFTAFilmAwards host Alan Cumming thanked the audience for their “understanding” after a series of audible outbursts from Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson interrupted the ceremony. • One incident saw Davidson shout the n-word while Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were on stage. • Davidson, the inspiration for BAFTA-nominated “I Swear,” was diagnosed with Tourette’s at 25. His symptoms include tics and involuntary outbursts. • “You may have noticed some strong language in the background there, this can be part of how Tourette’s syndrome shows up for some people as the film explores that experience,” Cumming told the audience. wp.me/pc8uak-1lGWhl

@TomAandTom1 Pitting racism against ableism here is the best way to make more of both. This slur was not intentional. That's not just relevant, it's the entire point. We're meant to be grown-ups. I guarantee you, few people have been beaten as many times as he has. It's just time to learn.

@rossmcgovern And the people defending him don't think that anyone else's life matters So black people should endure racial slurs, their life or comfort or dignity doesn't matter The white man's does.

@TomAandTom1 Racism requires intent, does it not? This just wasn't that. It's a very new situation for people to try to grasp, but the choice has been made clear as starkly as it always has throughout his life: try to understand, or deny him his place in society. Who do you want to be?

@rossmcgovern Tbh his behavior and the response of people to it has turned me off. I think when you're involved w a cause you understand that you act affects the cause, which is bigger than you and he didn't do that.
