Scottish. Left wing. A bit wordy. None of the opinions expressed here represent those of me.

- @zackpolanski has presumably been up all night. He's done the rounds of breakfast shows this morning and not put a foot wrong. He's head and shoulders above any other national politician at this stage.

This by-election is bigger than day to day politics. It’s about stopping Reform’s toxic politics coming to my city. The Greens misleading claims, dodgy bar charts & briefings risk letting them in the back door. Only voting Labour can defeat Reform. My letter to @ZackPolanski 👇🏻

🚨 NEW: Reform and Labour respond to the Greens winning the Gorton and Denton by-election: Matt Goodwin: "We are losing our country. A dangerous Muslim sectarianism has emerged. We have only one general election left to save Britain. Vote Reform every chance you get. I will continue the fight. I will always fight for you. I will stand at the next general election" Nigel Farage: "This election was a victory for sectarian voting and cheating. Matt Goodwin was a great candidate for us. Roll on the elections on May 7th. It will be goodbye Starmer and goodbye to the Tory party" Labour: "This result is clearly disappointing. By-elections are normally difficult for the party of Government, and this election was no different. We have had thousands of conversations over the last few weeks and we know the majority of voters here did not want the poisonous politics of Nigel Farage and Reform. We will continue to deliver a programme for government that tackles the cost of living crisis families are facing, creates opportunities for young people and invests in our public services. The politics of anger and easy answers offered by the Greens and Reform won’t deliver this. We will move forwards with a relentless focus on delivering the renewal communities across Britain want to see"

#BAFTAFilmAwards host Alan Cumming thanked the audience for their “understanding” after a series of audible outbursts from Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson interrupted the ceremony. • One incident saw Davidson shout the n-word while Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were on stage. • Davidson, the inspiration for BAFTA-nominated “I Swear,” was diagnosed with Tourette’s at 25. His symptoms include tics and involuntary outbursts. • “You may have noticed some strong language in the background there, this can be part of how Tourette’s syndrome shows up for some people as the film explores that experience,” Cumming told the audience. wp.me/pc8uak-1lGWhl
