SF INVESTIGATES • STEVE FISCHER@SF_investigates

#CelesteRivasHernandez deserves better. It’s infuriating that we are approaching six months and no charges have been filed in her murder. If the evidence hasn’t been secured by now, what exactly is happening? Is this a blown investigation? We now know these monsters sawed off Celeste's arms and legs. Let’s not call it “dismemberment.” That word sounds clinical, like a surgeon removed her limbs. That is not what happened. A vicious, sick group of people brutally hacked her arms and legs off her body. Was she alive when they started? And yes, I am using plural terms because, in my professional opinion, there is no way one person did this alone, whether participating directly or acting as an accessory. Yet only one individual is named as a target in the court filings. Like you Neo Christopher Langston. You knew. I’ve seen family members publicly defend him and threaten lawsuits against anyone who names him. Sue me. I beg you, please sue me. Give me subpoena power. Give me the power of discovery because that may be the only way the truth comes out. I beg of you, file that defamation suit. How do people like David, Neo, and Aysia live with themselves? Six months. No charges. No press conference. But LAPD and the District Attorney’s Office did issue a press release stating they had the Medical Examiner’s autopsy and investigative findings sealed so detectives could review them first, claiming it was not meant to undermine transparency. They got that information. Yet the records remain sealed. That press release misled the public. That press release was a lie. Another press release suggested the only potential criminal culpability might be concealment of a body. They said that knowing Celeste’s arms and legs had been sawed off. You came out with that press release knowing what had been done to her? If they do not have enough evidence to charge those responsible, then they need to say that plainly. Admit that after nearly six months, the investigation has not produced sufficient evidence to charge David Anthony Burke or anyone else who participated or was an accessory. Admit it's a blown investigation. Admit that important evidence was left behind after the search warrant. Admit that critical surveillance was lost because nobody followed up to obtain it. Celeste’s head and torso were placed in one cadaver bag. Her arms and legs were placed in another. Someone purchased cadaver bags. They cut her apart, placed her remains inside those bags, put her in the trunk of a Tesla, and went on with their lives. They purchased cadaver bags. They went to the extent of purchasing cadaver bags. And still, six months later, there are no charges. No accountability. Silence. Sealed records. Threaten me with contempt all you want. I will proudly take that contempt charge in the pursuit of justice for Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Six months is enough. Do your sworn duty, or admit the case was failed. We need to let the LAPD and the DA's Office know we are mad and this is not acceptable. And I wish her family would do the same. Here is the full 151-page court filing for anyone willing to read it. #D4vd #CelesteRivasHernandez dropbox.com/scl/fi/6x6c3mh…

@paulrodsjo @thomasahle @RasmusJarlov You're delusional if you think the US is the reason. Your president has even said that he'd spend even more money on the military. It's shitty mismanagement of the rest of your own funds. We paid high taxes which the US constantly makes fun of, we pay for our shit ourselves.

@thomasahle @RasmusJarlov I totally agree with that statement. It is the point of this discussion. The US can not afford to pay for both. The US has been picking up the bill for the party for a long time, and Europe needs to pick up the tab for their part. Be an ally, not a freeloader.

If the USA does not intend to honour the obligation to defend NATO because European countries dont join an offensive war of choice against Iran that we have absolutely no obligation to join, the USA membership of NATO is already worthless. The NATO oath to defend each other is unconditional. If you dont intend to honour it because you are offended about disagreements that have nothing to do with the treaty obligation that you have sworn to uphold, your are not a realiable ally. Tresties with you are worthless and your word means nothing. Unfortunately, that seems to be the case for the USA.

@5elmllc @RasmusJarlov You're the reason straits are shut down moron. you did it. since you guys have it under control how about you get it opened, y'all made it clear you don't actually need NATO, BEFORE you started a war. Now want NATO's help? Don't stab your allies in the back & don't be an idiot

No NATO country has currently been attacked. Until that happens, this hypothetical means absolutely nothing. We simply wanted those NATO countries to allow us to use our own funded bases in their countries and to assist in opening up the strait to get their own oil through. Ukraine is not in NATO and yet we are providing arms to NATO to assist in Ukraines defense. This after a 200b Ukraine gift (not a loan like the $100b EU). They were not asked to fight Iran alongside us. The US and Israel have that under control. Keeping the strait of Hormuz open was not a listed priority or goal. That being said, it will likely open up eventually due to our efforts.

Today on her show, Candace claimed that an intact bullet was found inside Charlie but that they had to change their story after they discovered Candace had the footage from behind showing no exit wound. She says that a source close to the Robinson family tells her that the gun in question needs “special bullets,” so the feds had the ATF fabricate an inconclusive test result. Question: why wouldn’t the feds fabricate a result that says it’s a definitive match? Make the case truly open and shut? If we’re going with the theory this was a big intricate international government plot and that this report is fabricated, why wouldn’t they only go half ass?

The old news about the inconclusive comparison of the bullet fragment recovered from Charlie's autopsy to Tyler Robinson's gun isn't the interesting part of the defense's motion to continue the preliminary hearing. The interesting part is the challenge they are working up to the validity of STR-Mix, a common probabilistic genotyping tool used to evaluate complex DNA mixtures.

Updates in the Fat Joe Case: Judge Jennifer E. Willis finds that defendants Terrance Dixon, Tyrone Blackburn, and Blackburn's law firm violated two of Judge Rochon's orders. Quoted is a summary of the March 4th conference.

Fat Joe/Joseph Cartagena v. Terrence Dixon, Tyrone Blackburn update: Today, there was an emergency conference regarding confidentiality designations and redactions tied to Blackburn’s March 2 filing and exhibits (which, Blackburn uploaded publicly). Judge Rochon has temporarily sealed those filings. Blackburn argued Cartagena is over-designating materials as confidential and using redactions that are too-broad. Judge Rochon said parties generally cannot redact based on their own relevance/non-responsiveness views; privilege is handled differently. Jordan Siev (counsel for Plaintiff Cartagena) said the Court's protective order provides a clear process to challenge designations. Siev also notes that the redactions include third-party identifying information and some privileged material. He goes through the examples and points out some of Blackburn's representations are plainly incorrect. " I will remind both parties, especially you, Mr. Blackburn," Judge Rochon began to explain how there's a process to challenge designations and that the exhibits Blackburn filed on the public docket... should not have been filed on the public docket. Judge Rochon directed the parties to meet and confer on what redactions/designations are proper. Judge also notes that production was done January 16th and the parties had nearly a month and a half to meet and confer over any issues with designations. Deadline set for the meet-and-confer/update: March 16. Documents remain under seal pending that update.

I’m a Republican. I supported Trump. I raised money for him, I voted for him. I donated $60,000 to his campaign. Trump lied. He rugpulled us all. I didn’t vote for Lindsey Graham / America Second policies. You can disagree with me if you want. It’s your right to be fooled. But if you say I have “TDS” or am a “liberal” you need a new argument. There are millions of conservatives and members of the now torched “broad coalition” just like me. The only ones left supporting him are MAGA always Trumpers who place the man above the policies and our country.

Businessman Drew Horn has, according to the Danish media outlet Berlingske, paid approximately DKK 380,000 to the U.S. government in a case concerning a conflict of interest. Horn told Berlingske that the allegations are false. American businessman Drew Horn is involved in several projects in Greenland, including plans for a data center and a hydropower plant in Kangerlussuaq. His activities have drawn attention in part due to his previous role as a senior advisor at the U.S. Department of Energy during Donald Trump’s first presidential term. On Monday, Berlingske reported that Horn’s time in government was followed by a legal case. He agreed to pay $59,000 (around DKK 380,000) to settle allegations brought by the U.S. Department of Justice, which accused him of mixing public duties with private business interests. The settlement was disclosed in a Justice Department press release issued in July 2025, which has not previously been reported by the media. According to the Department of Justice, Horn in January 2021 worked on a matter affecting the financial interests of a private company while simultaneously negotiating a future paid advisory role with the same company after leaving government service. Horn agreed to pay a civil penalty as part of the settlement but did not admit wrongdoing. He rejects the allegations. “I believe my competitors tried to plant false allegations to create a misleading narrative that I violated conflict-of-interest rules,” Horn told Berlingske. —Sermitsiaq (Horn recently attended the PDAC conference in Toronto, where he told Sermitsiaq that he hopes to return to Greenland in the near future.)
