Bayern's 2001 UCL winning captain Stefan Effenberg at Allianz Arena before Saturday's game: "For this team, there are two points remaining this season: to win [against Köln] with a professional performance and then to win the DFB Pokal again after six years. Next year, we need to invest a bit more to bring the Champions League trophy back to Munich" [via @Abendzeitung]

Context: Bayern board publicly courted Haaland while trying to extend Lewandowski’s contract. No wonder he was annoyed and left.

wait what? Lewa left Bayern when they needed him the most he is leaving barca as a washed 37 year old it makes complete sense that bayern fans hated his decision to force a departure whilst a lot of barca fans dont care that much as Lewa isnt even a starter anymore

Bayern have done everything to sign Kennet Eichhorn. There have been two meetings with the player. Vincent Kompany is determined to sign him and explained his plans with him in detail, Eichhorn is seen as an immediate reinforcement and would be part of four midfielders in the squad with Kimmich, Pavlović and Bischof. The 16-year old would get game time from the first season. Bayern are now waiting and hoping for the player's approval. Manchester City (via loan to Leverkusen) is seen as the most serious competitor to Bayern for Eichhorn's signing [@Plettigoal]

Julian Nagelsmann is considering calling up Manuel Neuer for the World Cup in concrete terms. Neuer is in the preliminary 55-man squad that was sent to FIFA on Monday. Talks between the goalkeeper and the coach have taken place. No final decision yet, but it is expected soon [@Plettigoal]

According to @TEAMtalk, Bayern Munich has agreed personal terms with Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon, who is reportedly also a transfer target for clubs such as PSG, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea. parisstgermain.news/bayern-agree-t…

The internal analysis over the past few days concluded that the current Bayern squad lacks enough depth for the highest international level. As an example, the club pointed to the 2020 treble team. During the Champions League final win over PSG, Kingsley Coman was replaced by Ivan Perišić, Serge Gnabry by Coutinho, and Thiago by Corentin Tolisso. Vincent Kompany did not have those kinds of options this year. That is why Bayern are looking to bring in a genuine attacking reinforcement this summer (Gordon top target), while also searching for another squad player in attack [@AgardiJulian, @cfbayern]
