Book 24:
Some books leave you awed long after you close the pages. This is one of them.
I'll be making a proper review in the #RovingThroughBooks series.

Also, the first chapter of my novel about Jehovah's Witnesses will be published soon by a literary magazine. It is such a peculiar religion and really if you were not a part of it, it is difficult for anyone to properly write about it. Every single piece of writing I have read by someone who was never a Jehovah's Witness just doesn't work. I can tell after the first few paragraphs if a person was ever inside or even how much time they spent in it. There is also a huge difference between those who left in their teenage years and those who were inside as adults. Like with any cult-like institution, you have to have experienced it to know it.
The chapter will be out in the next few weeks and I hope I can reach a deal to sell the novel soon. Only reason I have refused to sell the novel is because I have not been offered a proper advance. So yeah, when that happens, the novel will come.

For #WorldPoetryDay I want to celebrate a living poet, George Bilgere, whose daily Poetry Town newsletter has become a must-read every morning. This is one of his own poems and moved me to tears when I read it this past Valentine's Day. I immediately read it aloud to my wife.

Day 1 of #RovingThroughBooks. Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi highlights the struggles of slaves and the very evil of the act, taking people away from their homes and giving them no chance for return. Click this link to watch it all! youtu.be/T-kb-Q6ZTQM?si…

No time for time
Is the goal of a dance the dance itself?
Or is the goal of a dance
an excuse to give wings to the heart?
And where should the heart fly?
To watch you as you move,
with my hand on your hip.
Is the heart merely a camera
capturing one perfect image?
Is life just a collection
of successful photographs?
Are we taxidermists
collecting frozen moments of time
and living with the fantasy
of holding them forever
in an enchanted tomb?
Why do we dance, after all?
If not to gather treasures
made of fragments of happiness?
Are we not dancing like bees
gathering the unalterable sweetness of life:
honey?
But what is honey
if nobody will taste it again?
Dance for the dance.
Love for the love.
Joy for the joy.
No time for time.
Shining sun on a frozen lake,
be the echo of a ray.
Faithful.
Forget the question without an answer.
Forget the why.
Dance!
Inebriated by living water,
dance for one second,
dance eternity.
