After five seasons with @insightMrkt, I’m moving on to a new opportunity. Grateful for the experiences over the years, and I look forward to seeing where they go next. Thanks to all the clubs + staff I’ve worked with - wishing them all continued success.

@rowdencon @insightMrkt Great stint. All the best for the future 🤝

Nigeria currently 50th in the Athletics at the Olympics All-Time medal table and 59th in the World Championships.

Connor Rowden@rowdencon
That was quick. Ogazi one of many Nigerian athletes to watch in the coming years - only turned 18 on May.

@TodBrennanEng @CMDaygo That's just to get into the talent funnel - a more professionalised academy system, requiring more travel, greater time commitment + standards that lend itself to those who adapt quicker to these more structured environments.
English

@TodBrennanEng @CMDaygo Overly simplified. Fees ever increasing, facilities increasingly only in certain areas, less space in general, more cars, less easy access at schools (less scheduled sport/less of a state school sport culture/schools selling off or restricting access to their fields).
English

Does this stack up in reverse? Do Olympians for instance have higher than average GCSE grades? Seems counter-intuitive, if so.

The kids who get good grades in school are also the ones who participate at a higher level in a lot of non-academic activities
English

@TodBrennanEng @CMDaygo I'd argue it's already happening (parallels to the NBA now being drastically less working class in the US) - reasons why are varied but as with most things, comes down to how we've structured society + the economic principles driving it.
English

@TodBrennanEng @CMDaygo Olympians aren't a great measure for this - access to participate in most of them is now heavily linked to your schools budget + facilities and therefore selective schools. Bad enough, but to see similar trends in something as 'meritocratic' as football, is inevitable.
English

@CMDaygo Feels counterintuitive. Best athletes in our day were not often the most academic from my recollection. Most often it worked the other way round.

@JakeEntwistle It's all good, was a rare tweet by me these days anyway, so new followers will have to wait for the Athletics season to begin again for a reminder to unfollow me!

@rowdencon Cheers, Connor. Tried to give you as much credit as possible but let me know if you would rather me send people to another place in the future.
As for that shot: it’s a pretty good spot. If it was because he used his right foot consistently then that’s a decent sign.

Nice detailed piece by @JakeEntwistle on Hojlund. Final thing from me on it - this is the widest (right side) position that Hojlund has taken a left footed shot from in his Premier League career so far.

SCOUTED@scoutedftbl
Rasmus Højlund has all the tools to become a dominant Power Forward. However, of the 175 forwards with 450+ minutes in Europe’s Big Five Leagues this season, he ranks 174th for Shots per 90 (1.02). Monday Night SCOUTED investigates.

@rowdencon @jeorgebird Subs:2-Abraham Owusu-Gyasi、17-Joshua Tahou、8-Saurap Sampang.
