New York bill S7263 does not ban AI from answering basic questions. It targets generative models that impersonate licensed professionals and provide substantive advice constituting the unauthorized practice of law or medicine. It establishes liability when a platform acts as an unlicensed doctor or lawyer and causes harm. 📉

Restaurants don't exist because their food is delicious.
Hotels don't exist because they're comfortable.
Their existence lies in providing market-driven alternatives—not in replacing one another.
People believe AI-powered vibe coding could replace software companies because they cannot discern software quality. In other words, if people cannot distinguish between home-cooked meals, restaurant dishes, and factory-made ready-to-eat meals, they become confused—thinking they're all the same and choosing whichever is cheapest. The day people universally develop this discernment will be the day this industry matures.

Buy a .ai domain.
Develop an agent demo to host on it.
Begin a hero's journey story—how you fell down and got back up.
“I spent $1 million to buy an .ai domain.”
“Customers loved it, achieving x-fold growth.”
It's all about marketing—to get the snowball rolling.
This is a positive marketing approach,
but fireworks eventually fade away.

I'm sick of all the restaurants around my place—none of them serve what I really like. I found some tutorials on TikTok, and in just 45 minutes, I whipped up the delicious meal I craved. It tastes ten times better than anything those restaurants make, and it's a hundred times healthier. I'm never eating out again.

I don't know if SaaS is dead, but I did just spend 45 minutes vibe-coding an invoice tool that is 3x better (for me) than the SaaS I had used for years, and will now never log into again.

@DavidMagee @eoghan @lennysan No, when you replace a CEO, choose a direction, spend a million dollars on an AI domain, and develop a pay-per-result product—none of that matters. What determines success is whether you have enough luck at that moment.
English

@roy_fentime @eoghan @lennysan I don’t think it’s a luck thing. It’s a big balls and hardcore execution thing.

Love this too, and enjoyed the story on @lennysan pod!
Interesting that the prescription is ‘destroy everything you love’ but the subtext is you also need a) a CEO willing to bet the company, b) a board that won’t panic, c) cash reserves to burn, and d) a product category where AI creates obvious 10x value (easiest of the 4, maybe).
That’s a much narrower set of companies than ‘all of SaaS’! Going to be an interesting couple of years to see who makes it.
English

@LinusEkenstam Yet, the video still doesn't have anything interesting to say.
