Hey folks, I got an urgent request for you. ICE is using our DMV data to track protestors. This isn't getting enough attention given... well... everything else going on. And we need state governors to put a stop to it. They need to hear from you. Very easy action item -- takes 30 seconds. 1. Go to this link: democracyactioncenter.org/noicedata 2. Copy/paste the message. 3. Select your state. It'll take you to your governor's contact page. 4. Paste the message. Edit it however you see fit. Click send. And you're done. Takes 30 seconds. Please do it.

That's it. That's the best picture from Saturday's No Kings protests in the USA. The literal Statue of Liberty being detained by police. It doesn't get much more poetic than this.

Trump and Vance promised American families lower prices. Instead, grocery prices are expected to rise by 6% or more due to fuel costs from the Iran war. Their broken promises are causing folks to struggle. It's time for change, and voters are prepared to deliver.

Did you know all of Congress is out-of-town for the next two weeks? They don't return until April 13th. Two weeks. Our military is on the verge of invading Iran. The TSA funding crisis hasn't been fully resolved. The economy is a ticking bomb. There's widespread corruption ongoing, notably in the odd correlation between foreign policy developments and unusually high wagers placed on them through betting markets right before they occur. And the Republican-led Congress just... left town. To be clear, it was already scheduled long ago. And to be fair, it's not like most senators and reps are solely doing vacations. Most are doing in-state work. But this feels like a really bad time to leave town, and instead of Republican leadership saying "hey, we're gonna nix this state work period for obvious reasons," they just... took off. You may be thinking: "Charlotte, you're being a bit unfair. Everyone needs time off." Thing is... they've already gotten a lot of time off this year. They got a whole week off in January. And another whole week off in February. The House is taking most of April, including the last week not long after they get back from this break. And then another in May and another in June and another in July. The Senate is taking off two weeks in May and basically the first two weeks in July. Both the House and Senate are taking off nearly all of August. And again, to be fair, much of this time is spent by most lawmakers doing work in their states. Fine. But doesn't feel like a really, really bad time to take a break from D.C., especially given the breaks that have already been taken and the breaks right around the corner? There are thousands of American ground troops being staged in the Middle East right now. Why is this Republican-led Congress on Spring Break?

The newest data from the US Census Bureau is in – and North Carolina is growing. More people moved to NC from other states than to any other state. The fastest-growing counties in NC are Brunswick (the 6th fastest in the US!), Pender, Johnston, Iredell, and Franklin. And our two biggest counties – Wake and Mecklenburg – had population gains in the top 7 nationally. The growth shows North Carolina continues to be the best place to live, work, and play. As we grow, we have to take care to invest in our infrastructure and our people.

@1pcornwell Can’t wait. Any chance you’d speak to me about seeing your series onscreen at last? I’ve been reading since the 90s, convinced it was “statistically improbable” I was gay. Your books helped me and I’m fascinated to see your characters and stories updated and reimagined.

I'm told things got quite heated behind closed doors just now. When Rep. Summer Lee was asking about it essentially being a hearing without cameras, Chairman James Comer responded, "It's a briefing!" "Are you trying to find information, or are you trying to embarrass the attorney general?" Comer said. Lee responded that Bondi could defend herself and she was questioning Comer about the logistics. "You wasted three minutes of everybody's time, kind of bitching," Comer then said. There were audible gasps inside the room.

Rep. Summer Lee said she asked Oversight Chair James Comer in closed door meeting if he would force Bondi to comply with subpoena for a deposition and relayed “Instead of answering as an adult, he said that I was bitching”
