Congregating and requiring ‘affordable’ housing density in the form of apartment developments etc on major arterial rds. It’s already essentially a form of spatial apartheid, with public health impacts (incl Alzheimer’s etc). Esp when cities don’t have bldg cooling requirements.

Planners/city-builders of the past created some bad things in cities as they went along with the conventional wisdom of the day — rigid zoning, razing neighbourhoods for highways, e.g. What are the conventional planning wisdoms of today that you think will be regretted later?

BREAKING & HUGE: The British Columbia Govt has announced they’ll be ending Public Hearings for housing rezonings that conform with city-wide plans. They’ll also be over-riding municipal zoning to allow up to 4 homes per lot, and 6 near transit, across BC. dailyhive.com/vancouver/bc-m…
