@rppeace @JacquiWine You might find Irene Solà's When I Sing, Mountains Dance (Granta 2022) interesting.

@Shakespeare_Co @FaberBooks Great interview. She is endlessly fascinating and refreshingly honest

@johnmitchinson @BacklistedPod John this was such a brilliant episode. I found it moving on all sorts of levels Thank you all

Prep for the new @BacklistedPod on Anne Sexton was intense. I knew a few anthologised poems and that she'd committed suicide at 45 but reading the full sweep of her work was revelatory. Life throbs through her poetry in all its awkward, squalid glory.

@PippaCrerar Why is the extended O&G windfall tax a reduction? That is an increase surely?

@BacklistedPod @chrisfloyduk You have brought me comfort and pleasure in equal measure. Can’t thank you all enough. The introduction to A Goat Song has left me forever in your debt.

Toy Fights is the best memoir I have read for years. Hilarious and at times excruciatingly honest.

What memoirs have you read that have stayed with you? 📚 We’re honoured to welcome the authors of these incredible works to the Festival this August. All very different books, but each powerful and unforgettable in their own way. 2023 programme here: vist.ly/58k8

Please quote me a favourite line from the book (by an Irish author) you are reading this weekend!

@cox_tom I still fear the possible damage done to a book dropping from the top tier
English

@RichardLafette Yes he is. Am still not over the Carabo Cup Final though. I thought the wait was finally going to be over.

@rppeace Last weekend was entertaining, especially the Fulham meltdown. Mark Chapman is very good on the radio.
English

Just googled 'housery'. I kept hearing it on the radio and had no idea of meaning or etymology. I assume it's quite new. @rppeace
English

@rppeace Yep. But I'd never heard of it before this week. Sh*thousery didn't occur to me. Maybe I've had a sheltered life.
