@TheSaltySealdog Yes. Wish I could stay, Twitter is great, but I've failed to manage its downsides for me:
*Too addictive & distracting
*Too "mimetic", my desires and fears mimic others. Examples: AI fomo. Guilt & jealousy as a father, husband, provider.
*Too easy to stumble upon sexual content

@LeahLibresco @dylanmatt I empathize with this family. My income bracket is similar (top ~15%), our oldest is starting college, our budget is tight. We don’t pay $9k/yr for youth sports, but we do pay much more for Catholic school tuition. FAFSA doesn’t count that, and says we have no financial need.

My family of 7 moved from 4 bed/2.5 bath to 5 bed/3.5 bath when our oldest was 13. Big quality of life upgrade.

There should be a law banning a 5 second sign-up that requires a 15 min phone call to cancel.
It's very simple: there should be proportion. If you can sign-up online, you should not have to pick up the phone to cancel. The cancellation should be just as easy as the purchase.

It is my goal that if you attempt to do this with any of my essays, you will lose the nuance necessary to get the ideas in the essay to work, and so will have wasted your time.

whenever i encounter an interesting article i'd like to read these days it's far too easy to just pop it into chatgpt, claude, or dia and ask for a summary saves me some time, especially for articles that don't have much depth that wouldn't have been worth my time to begin with but i'm sure i'm losing out on some nuance, anecdotes, and the like for now at least. stronger ai personalization will probably be able to better elicit nuggets you'd be particularly interested in

Sentiment is turning strongly toward eugenics. "What, you're against having 'good' genes? You want more children with crippling diseases to be born?"
This will be the defining issue of the 21st century, and no other issue is even close.

Students in the earliest cohort(s) show awareness, interest, and desire to take action on an unproven opportunity…
It’s a super-strong Selection Effect that’s hard to replicate.

how do you get people to trust a product or experience that's never been tried before?
before the first cohort of gauntlet, many were skeptical (including myself)
so we asked @Austen: how did you combat the skepticism?
most people generally had the sentiment "even if this crashes and burns it will be a good way to learn and connect with people who love ai"
now that the first cohort is over however, future gauntlets should be much more de-risked

AI has so many educational possibilities other than apps for direct student use. Like this thing that analyzes student/teacher speaking time.
I can't tell about resistance in regular teachers, though.
