And of course we wait for Chase Burns, who was born about 1 mile from where I grew up. He is Italian, period.

Congratulations to Sammy as the first Italian born pitcher in MLB since Marino Pieretti in 1950 and as the first one ever genuinely developed in Italy. I have known him since he was in his early teens and I am thrilled for him and his family.

From Verona, Italy to The Show! The Angels are reportedly calling up Samuel Aldegheri for his big league debut on Friday. The southpaw has 134 K's in 95.1 IP across two levels this season: atmilb.com/3z1OO0r

Some people seem to be willing to accept change only if it is theoretically perfect. If there is "only" an improvement, they will reject it claiming that for some reason the residual errors make everything worse. I don't get it.

Not even marginally close to the truth, unless people cherry pick. Sure, they're harder to swallow when tech is involved, but the overall accuracy has greatly improved. Nothing is going to be perfect, but the improvement is evident.

@rsaggiadi I don't think I understood anything that was said to me in Scotland, so I'll go *with* the e.

@rsaggiadi Or maybe you are so US-centric you don't even understand how much it means for so many People around the world.

I mean, we could reply to this tweet in substance, but I am appalled by how narrow-minded this is. I read similar things by journalists about baseball at the Olympics and they just don't understand or care about how much it improves the game's status on a world stage.

First Freddie Freeman, now Edwin Diaz. The WBC is a meaningless exhibition series designed to: get YOU to buy another uniform, to hell with the real season, and split up teammates based on where their grandmothers got laid. Call it off. Now. espn.com/mlb/story/_/id…

So @rsaggiadi points out, and I think he's right, that I was deducting outs from the wrong teams for not playing the bottom of the ninths. Apologies and refiguring.

If I am right, Italy need to win by at least 4 runs and allow fewer than 6, to make it through.

@nickmo0001 @jjcoop36 This looks right to me, if the score holds. Italy can afford to give up 1 run and be qualified. Cuba has already won the group. I wonder why they didn't use run differential. Tacking on runs is only useful because you damage the opponent but you do not improve your case
