@INTLBaseball24 I guess there's a lot of things to do to reach that kind of goal (Nettuno is a baseball city but still pretty small and hard to get to), but it would be amazing! Hope the sport really get some funding to develop here, most of the movement it still pretty amateur-ish

It’s been hard to watch WBC broadcasts on FOX. We need more people involved in the WBC broadcasts who have knowledge of baseball around the world. Nettuno is a baseball crazy city. Parma, Bologna have powerhouse clubs. This tournament helps but baseball has tradition in Italy

While Team Italy normally would be playing at 8 p.m. for winning Pool B, No. 2 seed Team USA instead gets the timeslot tonight for FOX TV viewership.
But by playing at 3 p.m. ET Saturday, baseball fans in Italy can watch the game live with the six-hour time difference at 9 p.m.

@TigersJUK We actually managed to win at least one game in every other edition of the WBC with many more Italian born players. Most of the european competitions, both club and national teams, are often won by Italian born and raised teams.

Their entire team is American guys who play in the major leagues…
Until players from that countries domestic leagues are playing in the WBC, they haven’t improved as a nation.
Czech Republic are the only one.

@NaeNaeTakes Italy (and Netherlands)would 100% go through qualifiers even without North Americans with heritage, we have a lot of good players born and raised here that are much better at european level comparing to these other countries.
