琥珀化石を見るといつも思うんだけど、そもそも樹液に生き物が飲み込まれる様子って想像がつかない。(現代では虫入り琥珀みたいな見事な虫入り樹脂を見ない)
それは今の植生をイメージしてるからで、当時の樹木がどれだけ巨大だったかって事なんだと勝手に思ってる。とんでもない樹液の分泌量だったんだろう。
どんなサイズのどんな樹だったんだろうか。

🟣これは約5400万年前の『ヤモリ』が ⠀⠀琥珀の中に保存された化石標本の写真。 ⠀⠀現在のロシア・バルト海周辺で発見されて ⠀⠀おり絶滅したヤモリの仲間だと推測されて ⠀⠀いる。この標本のすごい点は、普通の化石 ⠀⠀のように骨だけではなく、皮膚の模様・ ⠀⠀体の輪郭・指先の構造までしっかりと ⠀⠀存在し、目や口まで朽ちることなく残って ⠀⠀いるため、まるで眠っているように見える ⠀⠀点である。ただし残念ながらDNAは ⠀⠀残っておらず、DNAは数千万年単位では ⠀⠀分解されてしまうため、ジュラシック・ ⠀⠀パークのように復活はできないと ⠀⠀されている。 ⠀⠀📷 Aaron M. @igorhansachat One day over 2 months ago an orange autobahn worker LKW appeared blocking the lane through a tunnel along my commute. Blocking one lane and reducing the speed limit to almost nothing. Since that date no work has been accomplished nor is there any problem with the road.

I love Germany but there is one huge downside of the country.
Nobody cares or takes responsibility.
Just drove from the seaside. It is 40km away from me.
In winter it is 20 minutes of driving. Today - 60 minutes.
The reason behind it is trivial. Construction works. Those, that ended in April 2026‼️. This is literally said on the Schild before it.
I am local here. I drive there from time to time. There are no construction workers, no construction vehicles or anything else left. It is ready I don't know at least for 2 months?
However two lines are still closed. All tourists and this is a heavily touristic region are going there for the weekend or even a week off.
Every day people who are bringing money to the region are staying in a traffic jam. For 40 or more minutes.
Just because somebody cannot remove the old barrier 🚧 - people who are bringing money are losing their time.
The German seaside is already extremely expensive and staying overnight is often around 200€.
If you stay for two days, for this money you may already get the all inclusive resort in Turkey. Including flight and warm water.
And some tourists that struggled this year in traffic jams will go somewhere else. But nobody cares. Everyone is just waiting for another economic miracle. There are no miracles in economics, only the hard work behind it.
P.S. The picture is midway, not on A1. Saving 30 minutes according to Google.

@TheRooster I used to fly FPV pre-ukraine war and I used the GTA mod as my simulator of choice. The physics were surprisingly realistic and the map design can't be beat by any other sim.

Rockstar accidentally built the most complex FPV drone sim ever back in 2013.
The military industrial complex can't replicate Los Santos's urban density without spending hundreds of millions.
So they’re just using a 13-yo, $30 game.
A custom military drone sim costs millions in defense contracts and usually runs like garbage.
Meanwhile the GTA modding community has spent the last decade obsessively perfecting wind resistance, custom gravity scripts, and first person FOVs just for fun.
Rockstar basically funded modern warfare training, and a bunch of random modders built the UI for free.

That young guy in a military uniform? it was an ACU uniform that he bought at kruschiki supply company for $25. he wears it everytime he goes out to eat and he hasn’t paid for a meal in years. well worth the investment!

I was at a steakhouse in Dallas, eating alone at the bar. Next to me was a young guy in a military uniform. He was eating a baked potato and a side salad. Nothing else. He kept eyeing the steaks coming out of the kitchen, then looking at his wallet. I flagged the bartender. "Put his tab on mine," I whispered. "And send him the ribeye. Tell him it's a mistake from the kitchen." The bartender grinned. "You got it." Ten minutes later, the huge steak landed in front of the kid. "I didn't order this," he said, panicked. "I can't pay for this." "Kitchen messed up," the bartender lied perfectly. "Manager said to eat it or we have to trash it." The kid ate like he hadn't seen food in a week. When he finished, he asked for the check. "Covered," the bartender pointed at me. The kid turned to me. "Sir, I..." "Thank you for your service," I said. "Get home safe." He stood up, shook my hand, and walked out taller than he walked in. If you have more than you need, build a long table, not a higher fence. 🫡🇺🇸
