Do you REALLY want to run your own Kubernetes? @lewtucker and I talk about how to drop #Kubernetes overhead and improve your Dev AND Ops efficiency on your cloud platform. We'll be talking GitOps, Templates, Container Development and more... hubs.la/Q01Mrh2p0

Generative AI, like ChatGPT, is likely to help rather than hurt DevOps/GitOps developers, but while it can do some amazing things when it comes to accelerating building code-based products, there are limitations on how smart these tools are off the shelf. hubs.la/Q01M8C9B0

Another interesting episode, and it was fun getting back together with Michael Damkot and Lew Tucker in real time to discuss #CloudNative and #InfrastructureAsCode

Enjoyed talking with @lewtucker about the how and why of #servicemesh for any application - cloud or not. If you'd like to learn how to enable service mesh for your #cloudservice or #onprem application, please reach out. @kumulustech is here to help. hubs.la/Q01Cms3Q0

@computelify @lewtucker #firewall != #security It's just a tool, and there are other tools that can provide better access control based on policy rather than just using network policy as an overlay to all security.
English

@lewtucker Love the proposal of running without a #firewall securely!

Kicked off the new year with a podcast series on cloud computing with my friend, Robert Starmer of Kumulus Technologies. Check it out. #cloudcomputing lnkd.in/gUDVGXbT

@steven_dake @lewtucker The problem is that most people can't tell you if COGS.cloud > 24%, heck they can't tell you what COGS.colocation is either...
And Unless they started with automation as a foundational cornerstone, their transition to .colocation is going to be extremely painful.
English

@lewtucker IMO, it depends on two factors: 1) How much you built on standards such as #linux, #cuda, #virtualmachine, ie: things that don’t change. And 2) how much of your COGS is allocated to cloud. If COGS.cloud > 24% time to transition to a co-location. Curious to watch you!

@sebgoa @TechCrunch Yeah, seems that the concept if “Open” would imply that, but I think that was perhaps more a clever naming strategy, rather than any form of real “Open”-ness :/
English

@sebgoa Seems that @techcrunch (techcrunch.com/2022/12/30/the…) pegs it at ~ 90K/yr (for a single machine), but you first have to train the model at >1.5M$…

@Opsani If you're doing DevOps right, your "location" is irrelevant. And as a consultanting DevOps practitioner, WFH has been the way for the past ~10 years, and my customers say I'm impactful :)
But if you want to talk about team coherence, the human interaction always has value.
