@luke_pighetti I noticed this today while working with antigravity When ai makes edits to the file it doesn’t trigger hot reload till o manually do it or manually save it. It’s quite idiotic

@rsty_rafe Sounds really bad, looking at the track record of lots of African countries, a revolution is needed asap, their leader are bought by the west, Africa is rich with lots of valuable resources that should benifit the people, instead it's going all to the west.

@mahersafadii Still able to comfortably use my 8gb ram m1 air cause I don’t use any electron based code editors. When I tried them out for the first time in a while as a daily driver I felt the lag.

I agree, I used a 2015 MBP for years with 8GB ram, I started my app business with it, it worked fine up until the AI app slop era where lots of apps started to be built poorly like Electron apps for example

unpopular take: 8GB is not the problem, software bloat is. i used an 8GB mac for years and it was fine because the programs were lean. now a browser tab takes 500MB and an electron app eats 1GB just to show you a text editor. we kept throwing more RAM at the problem instead of writing efficient software. if the industry spent half the energy on optimization that it spends on adding features, 8GB would be plenty in 2026. the real question isnt why apple ships 8GB, its why we need 32GB to run a chat app @steipete
