We confirmed the first Wisconsin case of #waterhemp resistance to PPO-inhibiting herbicides (Group 14) applied preemergence. 👉 Waterhemp accession A92 from Dodge County, WI showed reduced sensitivity to sulfentrazone and fomesafen applied preemergence and to fomesafen and lactofen applied postemergence. 👉 Resistance was not linked to any known target-site PPX1 or PPX2 mutations, pointing to likely non-target site mechanisms (e.g., cytochrome P450s or GSTs). @_TheMizzouTiger Early Sept killing frost and then a heat wave in the north. Lot of soybeans harvested like last fall. 8-10% moisture with some leaves still on them. Corn was premature killed but dried down and turned out okay.
