@rubesf9 Israel não está sob sanções europeias, não foi condenado por genocídio no ICJ e está em guerra contra o Hamas, grupo terrorista que iniciou o conflito. Não cabe à RTP definir política externa. Isso cabe ao Governo. O resto é militância ideológica disfarçada.

A RTP participa nesta edição da Eurovisão sem ter consultado os seus trabalhadores, que pediam um boicote. Ironicamente, os quase únicos artistas que não iam boicotar venceram o FdC. No final, os mesmos acabaram com um streak de qualificação de 5 anos. Karma é bonito

@earthling_maybe Aliás, se fosse apenas um concurso de música, Israel não teria manipulado o televoto em dois anos consecutivos para tentar vencer e ao ponto da própria EBU (que organiza o Festival) ter alterado as regras este ano

@PocasPedro Os últimos nem foram assim tão maus, mas, pelo menos admites que a música não sai do padrão daquilo que a RTP aposta. Este ano apenas foi tão nicho que nem a nível nacional tiveram grande sucesso

@PocasPedro Não é uma historinha, é apenas engraçado que a RTP tenha falhado a final pela 1a vez em 5 anos depois de toda a controvérsia deste ano. E poupem-me com o que é música fora de um Festival que vocês quase nunca veem, até parece que PT leva regularmente músicas dentro do ESC

@rubesf9 Venceram o voto do público português e ficaram em segundo no voto do júri. Os portugueses não boicotaram coisa alguma. Simplesmente a canção era fraca mas ainda assim a melhorzita do festival da canção. Israel qualificou-se. Encontrem outra obsessão. Há um cessar-fogo em Gaza.

this gotta be the worst eurovision production i’ve watched for over 10 years, soulless and boring thru the entire night, just lazy and sloppy, felt nothing

tonight showed how low effort eurovision has become. the hosts were boring, the interval act was about nonsense, the graphic designs were awful and the atmosphere itself felt forced. it really reflected how eurovision isn’t truly eurovision anymore. it’s not how it used to be.

Sorry I don’t chime in nowadays but I need to point out how hilarious it is that RTP refused to withdraw despite all the calls to, two (2) artists in FdC saying they’d go to esc, one of them winning, and ending Portugal’s qualification streak. Karma served on a silver platter

This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. The funny thing is, he knows, deep down, that the future of the contest is screwed and Israel has already done damage to its reputation beyond repair. He‘s just too afraid to actually do something to avoid Eurovision‘s downfall and will continue deflecting any sort of criticism

This is why Israel is so utterly obsessed with manipulating the televote, because the system is not robust enough to avoid being abused by a focused minority. Israel wants the illusion of a "silent majority", because their actual favourability polls everywhere are plummeting

Changing the limit to 10 votes max won‘t change shit. It takes a ridiculous small number of people to vote 10x for them to get 12pts and they‘ll continue to find ways to manipulate it and distort things in their favour Eurovision is dying and the EBU can only blame itself
