@FinallyHuman Have you tried ironing it, on a high steam setting, with kitchen paper between the fabric and the iron? Can often lift resinous stains.

Sacristy help! I’ve got resin from the Thurible in my cotta (surplice, for those of a nervous disposition). It’s been there a while. Fairy liquid, Oxi stain remover, and hand sanitizer have all done little to shift it. Any tips?

"The waves of the sea are mighty, and rage horribly : but yet the Lord, who dwelleth on high, is mightier." (Psalm 93:4 - from yesterday's Evening Prayer).

Remembering I do in fact have a chapter coming out in a Penguin book in the coming year and that's slightly silly.

19 May is the feast of St Dunstan, one of the greatest saints of Anglo-Saxon England, who died in 988. Archbishop of Canterbury during a transformative time for the English church and nation, he was also a talented musician, craftsman and devil-fighter. aclerkofoxford.blogspot.com/2014/05/an-ang…

@Dr_W_E_Bulmer Ramble over, but in brief - God has formed a flawed but fruitful wee chapel on the coast of Fife, where I learned not to do things for Him but to look for Him and where my theologically restless, over-curious soul is still met with kimchi, cat-sitting requests, and holy love.

@Dr_W_E_Bulmer a hanger-on ex-student but as a friend. I'm in awe of their holiness (their joyfulness! Their solemnity!). I'm grateful to have been shaped by them but I'm more grateful that 4 years on they still phone, still ask me to pray for them, still open their homes to me and *like* me.

There are evenings when I ache horribly for my little church in St Andrews: locking up at the end of the night with keys we weren't really supposed to have, Bible study and prayer over kimchi with Bib studs professors, suppers heavy with wine and jokes by the sea: paraklesis.

@SebMilbank This image transports me exactly to being five years old and watching The Blue Planet on VHS with @DunnsDee in our parent's living room, squabbling over who got to sit on the beanbag but mostly transfixed by whales.

Today is as good a day as any to re-read 'The Night City' by W. S. Graham.

It's obviously easy to conduct an empiracle test as to what is the "greatest" novel by simply counting which novel, out of all of them, uses the word "great" the most times.
