@2D0XPS That’s in the shopping bag. I’ll try it tomorrow.

Sacristy help! I’ve got resin from the Thurible in my cotta (surplice, for those of a nervous disposition). It’s been there a while. Fairy liquid, Oxi stain remover, and hand sanitizer have all done little to shift it. Any tips?

@FrGary1 That was the thinking behind the hand sanitizer

Are there any Anglo-Catholics out there who absolutely reject female ordination? My feeling is that most have made their peace with it.

The whole conversation in hell consists of the damned telling each other how it is all a terrible mistake and they should not be there at all because they are righteous and virtuous. The desperate boredom of this must be the pain of hell - Herbert McCabe OP

While Anglocatholicism is my home, I make it a consistent habit to worship with the Con Evos and Charismatics often. When it is remarked that “people are now attending church again” I wonder where it is they have been looking. ConEvos and Charismatics are used to large gatherings

Never mind how missionary pastors from overseas have been filling rented halls for Pentecostal or Baptist or Reformed gatherings of diaspora from Africa, the Caribbean, India, East Asia.. all over. And have done for years.

But in almost every town you’ll fine some stalwart Evangelical parish or chapel where many people show up week by week and have been doing so for years. Is what they do not really “church”, or are their attenders not really “people”?

There must be some reason for it but I cannot fathom why it is that @Augustine_Inst managed to get the Catholic ESV spot-on but in the UK they foisted us with this horrid sans-serif typography. Every time I think about buying an Anglicised ESV-CE I reconsider.

What’s your favourite combo on Mac for an academic referencing manager and word processor? I’m using Zotero and LibreOffice right now but neither of these really look great and they’re a bit clunky.

@thevicarswife @exceeding_love A wedding I served at for some dear friends communicated only the bride and groom because of exactly this reason. (There was another celebration of Holy Communion earlier at that day at which anyone could receive) The reception was full of great conversations about the Faith

@exceeding_love Historically this has not happened though. And now many guests would not be baptised, let alone communicants so it seems extra unhelpful to do this. Bride and groom can just go to church on Sunday morning, as my son and his bride will be in August.

Cardinal Bugnini’s reflection on Anglican observers at Vatican II makes one proud to be in the Church of England.
