@HenriHelvetica Well, you can create an account to play around, else I can send over a scheduling link and we can chat about it and give you an informal demo. Lemmeknow what you prefer!

I've started sprinkling dictation into my (mac) workflow, and one place it's become really valuable is when having to submit 2FA verification codes sent to my phone. Reading them out is way nicer than writing them out, though I only recommend you do so when in private.

Team preparing for @TimescaleDB release 2.23 shortly, including full #Postgres 18 support. Also continued UUIDv7 improvements, now with native compression for less storage and 2x query performance. 📈

@TylerAYoung Inner monologue: "what's ecto doing for its `redact: true` fields?"

Likewise I tried a blocklist Inspect derivation in `MyApp.Schema`: defmodule MyApp.Schema do defmacro __using__(opts) do quote do use Ecto.Schema @ derive {Inspect, except: [:password, :name]} end end end ...but Inspect gets mad about unknown fields.

Okay #ElixirLang folks, I need your ideas... I'd like to override the fallback Inspect protocol for all structs to redact certain sensitive keys. For instance, I'd like the backtrace of: Enum.reduce(%User{password: "secret"}, fn _, _ -> :ok end) to redact "secret".

tbh my twitter account got nerfed in a huge way about four years ago by celine dion's record label for making end of game videos my engagement is maybe 10-15% of where it used to be, elon is nerfing any posts with a link to our work and bots/trolls (and worse) are rampant

Dear Elixir uses, I need your numbers. Start your project with "iex -S mix" and then run this: iex(1)> app = Mix.Project.compile_path() |> Path.join("#{Mix.Project.config()[:app]}.app") iex(2)> :timer.tc(:file, :consult, [app]) |> elem(0) iex(3)> File.ls!(Mix.Project.compile_path()) |> length() Reply with the results of lines 2 and 3.

Do you use a clipboard manager in your computing life? Which one and why? I never acquired the habit but I abuse the vim yank and regular copy/paste a ton so more of that would actually be great?

@bcardarella I'd love to love them because Elixir/Phoenix, but availability is table stakes for a PaaS, and they either haven't prioritized it or can't provide it.

When it's up it's great, but their downtown frequency is edging on being unacceptable. I'm sure they can produce stats showing some high level of 9s of uptime but I know what I see.

For Core Web Vitals what is CLS measured in? Why is 0.1 considered not good and 0.25 bad, and what do those numbers represent? I've had 3 separate conversations on this with various people in last 24 hours so figured it's time for another deep dive thread to explain... 🧵 1/12
