yet another one — father of three, two girls and a younger son (you know what i mean)— was having a ‘casual’ discussion on how he took dowry. i stayed mum. he pushed me into speaking and all i had to tell him that sorry you're a senior but what you said is crap and also shameful.

happens so often at workplaces. a newly married colleague spoke his discontent in a fun way how he didn’t get enough dowry. expected me to laugh. i didn’t. had the audacity to ask me why i didn’t. i asked him to explain what’s funny. it stayed awkward till today. totally worth it

The argument that women shouldn’t use foul language is moot. Stop policing women.
If your position is that people shouldn’t use foul language then fine. That’s something we can talk about.
But if your position is that women shouldn’t swear because they’re women, then that’s another thing. Then we’re talking about control.
What women wear.
How they speak.
How they walk.
How they eat.
How they exist.
