My Dad died from a stroke 4 years ago. I asked for help and got therapy. I stopped being “all in” on running and started trying to help others. I’m just grateful for the people in my corner who support me no matter what. Strength is asking for help ❤️ washingtonpost.com/sports/2020/09…

Reading a lot here about how we help college athletes. The conversation is great, and providing more resources for these athletes is a great step. But we’re missing the forest for the trees. The problem isn’t resources. The problem is the system.

since we're talking about wharton I would like to share some of my experiences there as a low-income undergrad. so at penn, there are more students in the top 0.1% income bracket than in the bottom 20%. only about 3% of the student body are from the bottom 20%— I was one of them

With permission to post this from her, this was sent by the UCLA Athletic Director to Mia Fishell in response to her speaking up about the racist incident with UCLA Gymnastics. I find it extremely inappropriate that an AD is trying to silence her for speaking up. @UCLAAthletics

Let me be frank: Owners and those in positions of power within the NWSL that are making the sale of the Washington Spirit difficult are ACTIVELY harming and traumatizing players currently and formerly in the league. ESPECIALLY BLACK AND BROWN PLAYERS.

It’s wild how @KirkHerbstreit started the week by saying players don’t love football and ended it by saying they should unionize as employees.

The NCAA claimed it used the term 'student-athlete' 44 times in its new constitution because that's what athletes want to be called. So, for @guardian, we talked to more than a dozen to see if they agreed. "The term could not be further from the truth." theguardian.com/sport/2021/dec…
