When you listen to these guys passionately talk about this project you understand how much attention to detail they put into this project. @larvalabs is always ahead of their time. And I think now’s the time for @MeebitCompany to shine.
Here’s why I believe that: Not only is @sergitosergito a responsible & respectable founder in this space, where his passion for this project literally took it over, but think about how ai is changing the game. Literally!
I predict we will be able to use ai to prompt games at a think of a button. What does this mean for Meebits? They are metaverse / video game ready characters with recognizable IP I think can grow as large as Hello Kitty or Pokémon characters have since our childhood. Yet, these are characters we can imagine and identify with. We become the characters themselves. We can prompt them directly into the universes and games we want to play.
Why not be your Meebit in Otherside, Fortnite, or any game you prompt in the future with ai? These are usable characters for animations, short films, podcast speakers, anything you can dream up. And! Meebits can are the perfect fit for your ai agent. There is so much potential here by the leading NFT artists who are in major museums around the world.
After hearing them speak on behalf of their artwork it made me see what’s possible, and what’s coming next. That being said, I am curious what Matt and John would create as a video game world for their beloved Meebits. Perhaps it’s time to build it, and show us the way!
After the event, the gracious @AdamWeitsman invited everyone to his building, where the walls in the lobby and gathering spaces were filled with paintings and photography like the a magnificent museum! Its an angel like Adam who make this community very special, and holding space for everyone to meet and connect in the real world makes the movement real. Sean and I spoke about what it means to be a photographer nowadays and how to push the medium, to integrate new technologies and ideas to create perspectives. His new cloud prints he’s working on blew me away! How do you integrate the future in your present practice that is made from the past? You all may know me as a photographer, but I have been painting for 15 years! I studied photography and silkscreen in art school. Silkscreen is a great way to make photographs into paintings. 12 years ago I put down my camera for a year to make these small mixed media paintings called Cognition. One of them, literally the final one, is called “The Making of a Modernist.” In a way I look at that character with a brush in one hand and a camera in another. That’s me, an artist. A modernist! Someone who loves and lives by their tools. And a decade later, I’m still learning, playing, and experimenting to add more technologies to that tool belt. So we can express ourselves while we are still here and evolving with the world, together!
