Watching the presser on changes to the health system... Smith highlights challenges with staffing and surgical wait times, but unclear how their proposed reforms will fix any of this. Says that current system lacks accountability and falls short on putting patients 1st /1

@bobblesTSmith @Lorian_H In AB, maybe 6 months once you have actually had your assessment done. 18-24 months to GET the assessment after initial referral received (my referral went in in July and still haven’t even had acknowledgement of referral… College standard = contact within 2 weeks!

UCP’s economics… privatize so it costs less, then spend cuz it actually costs more, and take no responsibility for the F**k up, instead take credit for saving us all from the mess that THEY made! And people keep voting them in 🤷‍♀️🤯🤦‍♀️

@MetisMamaMB Sorry to hear this - I haven’t had an issue with the 2 Edmonton stores I’ve been to. Sometimes it has been very busy in the south store and can be hard to find an available person to assist me, but I don’t believe it was ever due to my gender.

Invisibility cloaks do exist. They put one on every woman when she walks into Long & McQuade.

@AlisaCaswell @asoursun @UbakaOgbogu Agree re: nuance… heck, I left my rural city to go to U of A, but it took leaving Alberta to truly widen my horizons and many years to gain a very different perspective than the one I had growing up!

@asoursun @UbakaOgbogu No. Disagree. Keyano in McMurray specializes in heavy trades. MacEwan and NorQuest in Edmonton are colleges (MacEwan offers degrees, diplomas, and certificates). These aren't rural.And are public.

@auntieda2128 @AndersonBooz I’ve done this as well, and then a man offered one to declined it, stating “I can’t chew them because of my teeth”. I hadn’t thought about their poor dentition. The Nutrigrain-type bars can be a better option because they don’t require teeth. Things we take for granted…

1/This morning a man approached three of us outside a church. He was looking for $ for food. Or we could buy him the food. One of us had $10 handy and gave it to him. He left. The three if us talked a moment about how we don't care what he spends it on. The man who gave the $

Hi, Edmonton! If you prefer not to spend your money at establishments who proudly spout their ignorant, ableist and homophobic views, I strongly suggest avoiding Sommelier Select Liquor Store at 2041 - 163 Street SW. #yeglocal

The Problem With Jon Stewart
State Sen. Nathan Dahm (R-OK) has penned several bills loosening gun restrictions, including the nation’s first anti-red flag law. He thinks these bills protect the Second Amendment – and that they make us safer. We think it's probably one or the other. Watch it on @AppleTVPlus.

Smith’s proposal was to spend $20 billion on royalty credits getting companies to clean up oil wells they are already obligated to clean up - it’s literally the cost of doing business. Her hand out is worth almost the entire healthcare budget. Those are her priorities. #AbLeg

@howie_hua 25 x4 = 100. Then X 3 (because 4x3=12) So 100x 3 = 300

In my occasional, random posts on Canadianisms: it's amazing that despite the relentless influence of US entertainment shows - including the fantastic E.R. - many many Canadians still refer to the Emerg (though I never know how to spell it). Does any other country use this term?
