We raised her, she went wild, and she has spent years as the most devoted nanny and protector in her ex-orphan herd – through personal losses that would have broken a lesser elephant. And then, with the best early Christmas gift we could have asked for, on 14th December 2025, she arrived at the stockades with a brand new baby girl. Just speculatively pushed at the door of the church in our village. Not only was it unexpectedly open- but it has one of the best medieval murals I have ever seen. St Christopher, 13th century, St Mary Magdalene, Ditcheat, Somerset. Only discovered during restoration in 1932.

Sat down to enjoy the peace and then noticed that there’s a whole world going on in the field. Catch it best towards the end. Thousands of shimmering spiders strands and you only see them when the wind catches them and the sun glints on them. Magic
