Another round of negotiations has concluded in Geneva. The work took place in two formats – separate meetings with the American side and a trilateral meeting involving the United States and Switzerland. Following the meetings, together with Davyd Arakhamia @arakhamia_david and representatives of the American side – Special Envoy @SEPeaceMissions Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner @jaredkushner – we held a joint call with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr @ZelenskyyUa, to discuss the outcomes of the meeting and the next steps. The next round is being prepared. We are working on finalizing the security parameters, economic decisions, and agreed positions that should form the basis for further arrangements. The objective is to make the next trilateral meeting involving the United States and Russia as substantive as possible. Particular attention was devoted to the economic track and long-term support mechanisms for Ukraine. Together with the Government’s economic team, including @OleksiiSobolev, and our American partners, we conducted a detailed review of the document on Ukraine’s recovery. It was agreed that our teams will continue working on further detailing the document – in particular regarding future reconstruction and the investment plan. We are grateful to Switzerland for organizing the negotiations and creating the conditions necessary for productive work. We thank President Donald J. Trump and his team for their active engagement and consistent support of the process.

Today in Geneva we continue our work within the framework of the negotiation process. A bilateral meeting with the American delegation has begun — with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. From the Ukrainian side, joining me in the delegation today are Davyd Arakhamia, Oleksii Sobolev, and Daryna Marchak. Together with the Government’s economic team, we will thoroughly work through the prosperity package: mechanisms for economic support and recovery of Ukraine, instruments for attracting investment, and frameworks for long-term cooperation. Additionally, together with Davyd, we will discuss preparations for the next round of trilateral negotiations involving the russian side — it is necessary to synchronize positions ahead of this stage. An important issue is the humanitarian track and the issue of possible exchanges. We expect concrete results regarding the return of our citizens. We are focused on practical solutions. We will inform about the outcomes after the meeting is concluded.

In Ankara, I met with Türkiye’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan. I briefed the Turkish side on the course of the recent negotiations in Geneva and the current security situation. We discussed coordination of further steps and the prospects of the diplomatic track. We also focused separately on humanitarian issues. We are grateful to our Turkish partners for their consistent position since the first days of the full-scale war. In 2022, Türkiye decided to close the Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits to russian warships — an important step for security in the Black Sea region. We continue our close cooperation 🇺🇦🇹🇷

Readout of Trilateral Peace Talks Hosted by the United Arab Emirates Over February 4 and 5, delegations from the United States, Ukraine, and the Russian Federation met for the second trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi to advance efforts to end the war in Ukraine. The discussions were constructive and focused on how to create the conditions for a durable peace. The delegations reached agreement whereby the Russian Federation and Ukraine will each release 157 Prisoners of War. This is the first exchange in the last five months.   Over the two days, the delegations had wide-ranging discussions on the remaining open issues including methods to implement a ceasefire and monitor the cessation of military activities. The delegations agreed to report back to their respective capitals and to continue trilateral discussions in the coming weeks. They expressed their appreciation to the United Arab Emirates for hosting the talks. Ukraine is grateful to President Donald J. Trump for his leadership in advancing an end to the war.

I met with our negotiating team ahead of the new round of trilateral talks. We expect the meetings to take place in the coming days, as early as this Wednesday and Thursday. Nearly all members of the negotiating team attended today’s meeting, namely Rustem Umerov, Kyrylo Budanov, Sergiy Kyslytsya, Andrii Hnatov, and Oleksandr Bevz. Davyd Arakhamiia will also participate in the negotiations. I approved frameworks for the talks and set specific tasks. The Ukrainian delegation will also hold bilateral meetings with the American side. Ukraine is ready for real steps. We believe it is realistic to achieve a dignified and lasting peace. We consider the bilateral security guarantees document with the United States to be complete, and we anticipate further substantive work on documents related to recovery and economic development. We also anticipate that the American side will remain decisive in ensuring the necessary conditions for dialogue. The de-escalation measures that went into effect on the night of last Thursday to Friday are helping to build public trust in the negotiation process and its possible outcome. The war needs to be ended. Thank you to everyone around the world who is helping. Glory to Ukraine!

Our delegation delivered a report; the meetings in the UAE have concluded. And this was the first format of this kind in quite some time: two days of trilateral meetings. A lot was discussed, and it is important that the conversations were constructive. The negotiations also involved military representatives from all three sides. From our side, today’s participants included Rustem Umerov, Kyrylo Budanov, Andrii Hnatov, Davyd Arakhamiia, Sergiy Kyslytsya, and Vadym Skibitskyi. From the American side, the participants were Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Dan Driscoll, Alexus Grynkewich, and Josh Gruenbaum. The Russian side was represented by members of their military intelligence and armed forces. The central focus of the discussions was the possible parameters for ending the war. I highly value the understanding of the need for American monitoring and oversight of the process of ending the war and ensuring genuine security. The American side raised the issue of potential formats for formalizing the parameters for ending the war, as well as the security conditions required to achieve this. As a result of the meetings held over these days, all sides agreed to report back in their capitals on each aspect of the negotiations and to coordinate further steps with their leaders. The military representatives identified a list of issues for a potential next meeting. Provided there is readiness to move forward – and Ukraine is ready – further meetings will take place, potentially as early as next week. I expect a personal briefing from the delegation upon its return. I am grateful to the United Arab Emirates, and personally to the President of the Emirates, for their mediation and their readiness to host further meetings. Ukraine is working for peace and security. Thank you to everyone who is helping.

On the U.S. side, the consultations included Special Envoy @SEPeaceMissions Steve Witkoff, @jaredkushner, Josh Gruenbaum, General Daniel Driscoll, and General Alexus @grynkewich. The Russian delegation included representatives of military intelligence and the armed forces. The meeting focused on the parameters for ending Russia’s war and the further logic of the negotiation process aimed at advancing toward a dignified and lasting peace. Additional meetings are scheduled for tomorrow. Tomorrow, the Head of the General Staff, General Andrii Hnatov, and the Deputy Head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Vadym Skibitskyi, will join the Ukrainian delegation. Following each stage, we report to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The Ukrainian team is acting in a coordinated manner within the framework of the tasks set by President @ZelenskyyUa. We are ready to work in various formats depending on the course of the dialogue.
