Hey #AcademicTwitter I’m starting a new ritual where I have a quick dance party after every manuscript or conference submission. Highly recommend. What are your go-to celebration songs?!

Why aren't people wearing masks? A behavioural psychologist explains why Canadians still aren't willing to wear masks even when multiple viruses are causing children to be hospitalized at unprecedented rates ( theglobeandmail.com/podcasts/the-d… ). H/T: @_SunshinyDays 🧵1/

@herringschmaltz @kelvarsnson2022 @BogochIsaac Seems like Elon let all the trolls in lol Posting mean and distasteful comments usually stems from a deep sense of hurt, so I just wish you all healing and peace ❤

👉Flu-related hospitalizations in Canada for those ≤16 years of age are way higher now compared to prior years. 👉Lowering barriers to flu vaccines & masking would help. 👉Book a flu shot in 🇨🇦 here: bit.ly/3F9uGs4

@CSheehan98 @herringschmaltz @BogochIsaac Thx 4 your interest! We get ~$7/vaccination from the gov. When you factor in cost of injection supplies and salary of staff, we actually LOSE money by offering this service. Next time you're in pharmacy, please say a kind word to staff working tirelessly to serve our community.

I will not weigh in on any but the virologic test aspects here. After 5 days a RAT positive is more likely viral culture negative than positive. By 8-10 days almost no one carries cultivatable virus (unless a chemo, transplant patient or similar). Retesting usually not helpful.

“(Danielle) Smith has posted, entirely wrongly, that “the mRNAs had no obvious effect on COVID deaths and may have actually increased deaths from other causes.” Fact-check: COVID vaccines saved 20 million lives in the FiRST year of use. cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspecti…

Here are some posts from Danielle Smith's Local page (from earlier this year) which offer some perspective on her comments regarding the unvaxxed as well as how to move forward in dealing with COVID in Alberta.

My friend Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance @cafreeland didn’t deserve this. No one in public office does. This needs to stop. Canada is better than this.

shared with permission: This angel brightened up my day. I helped treat her mom for COVID while she was in the womb, she was born happy and healthy. Mom & dad brought her in for me to carry. Couldn't be happier. #twitterx #lawlorpharmacy #pharmacists
