@Ksheebah1 Talking is very fine, queen Karma, but remember to plug in the brain while talking. Otherwise, people might think the reason you didn't speak all that time wasn't about time.

I’ve been quiet for 15 years. Not because I had nothing to say or didn’t see it but because it wasn’t time. Now it is. Your turn to listen. My turn to speak.

@UGCitizen256 Your reporting standards are not good at all. The security guard rushed and carried out a rescue operation - was it successful? If yes then they planned for the emergency by training him.

#UPDATE There was panic inside the Pioneer mall elevator after several people who were inside it got trapped for several minutes. It all started when the lift failed to move and locked its self due to a system failure . The security guard rushed to the spot and carried out a rescue operation however, the incident has exposed glaring gaps in maintenance, emergency preparedness and infrastructure reliability.

@amronaldo On paper, that's very correct, why did they seek cabinet approval then?

@rwakijuma What do you mean? All I know is what is supposed to happen and it is that KCCA contracts a competent and capable public service buses with clear scheduling and bus lanes.

What exactly is failing us as a nation? How does a Cabinet consistently struggle with the most basic elements of public management? How can deploying 8 buses to work as Kamunyes/Taxis be discussed and approved by Cabinet and why. 8 BUSES. EIGHT BUSES. IN KAMPALA. This is what needs Cabinet attention: Infrastructure Challenges ➖Bus‑only lanes or priority measures on major corridors ➖Adequate road space to prevent buses from being trapped in mixed traffic ➖Properly designed terminals and depots for loading, parking, and maintenance ➖Road geometry that accommodates large buses (lane width, turning radii, junction design) Regulatory Alignment ➖A single coordinating authority for planning, enforcement, and contracting ➖Clear, enforceable operating rules for all public transport modes ➖Formalisation of existing informal operators to stabilise service delivery Operational Requirements ➖Contracted operator model (payment per kilometre, not per passenger) ➖Temporary subsidies for new routes until demand stabilises ➖Fleet procurement, maintenance systems, and reliable financing structures Proper Bus Service Planning ➖A citywide, demand‑based route plan ➖Integrated ticketing and regulated fares ➖Data systems for monitoring performance (GPS, scheduling, OBCs) Political & Social Harmonisation ➖Strong political will to protect reforms from sabotage ➖Public communication to guide behaviour change and adoption ➖Stakeholder alignment across MoWT, KCCA, Police, and operators @KCCAUG @KCCAED @GKMAUrbanDevt @MoLGUganda @StateHouseUg

Kampala Capital City Authority has announced plans to roll out electric buses in the city before end of May, following Cabinet approval. KCCA ED Sharifah Buzeki says 8 electric buses will launch in phase one as the city tests and expands the system. “We were to introduce electric buses… and Cabinet has granted permission,” she said.

@SpireJim Prof. What about the new plates being used at these functions, I think they too force people to create those hills.

One of the telling things about our society at our functions is how we behave around food: 1. People loading more food on their plates than they can finish, and without feeling ashamed of the heaps on their plates 2. The fact that people have to be served, because they don’t know how to share limited resources 3. When given a chance for self service, people serving themselves without any regard to those behind them that might not get. Five pieces of chicken are left in the dish, and someone serves himself three of them (with 20 people behind him) 4. People eating more than they need, just because there is free food 5. People acting impatient as if they would die if they took 10 more minutes before their turn to serve (okulookalooka/ okululunkana) 6. Serving the second time (double) before others get anything, and pretending not to have eaten at all 7. Packing food to take home when some people present haven’t got 8. Catering service providers hiding food. While these habits might seem isolated and only related to food, they ALL vividly manifest themselves when we are in charge of any resources that have to be shared. Think about it. Our biggest problems as a country are around GREED, SELFISHNESS, DISHONESTY, and lack of a sense of SHAME

@Swangz_Avenue @kaawabanga @IamVinka ⚠️FACTS ⚠️ the person who thought of this must do research first. How will she fill the cricket oval without a trending song. He forget that this kind of concerts happen outside Uganda. Ok fans will come but we all know her fan base is small
