@rweichler With your skill I guarantee you will get a lot of views on YouTube if you make a proper tutorial about this tweak 😂

EQEverywhere now supports iOS 17 and iOS 18. Jailbreak is required. Get it on eqe.fm this has 1 and a half years worth of changes so i probably missed some details. tested on palera1n rootless on iPhone X (iOS 16) and iPad 7th gen (iOS 18) - iOS 17 and iOS 18 support - brought back `killall mediaserverd` button - autoeq presets are cached locally and automatically updated (no more waiting for download) - dedicated preset menu - much faster number input - check for update / download update within app - experimental "chat" tab which shows the discord chat, eventually i wanna be able to share presets in there, or lua scripts, or something rootless: eqe.fm/static/eqe2.2.…

its a parametric EQ so there is a steep learning curve i attached a video which shows how to use the preamp / select your headphones preset preamp is the slider on the left to configure it for your headphones, press the preset tab -> AutoEq -> scroll to your heaphones (its alphabetical) -> click your headphones. (this part definitely needs to be easier / more obvious)

@rweichler Couldn't figure out the right EQ settings / preset for the headphones. At that point I just gave up, installed my headphone's app and just configured it that way 🤦🏻‍♂️ All I wanted to do is just preamp, i don't understand why it's so difficult

@rweichler This is the most ugly looking and broken mess of an app I've ever seen, never managed to get it working with my headphones

@spicetifyapp @alfiecg_dev Thanks for this info. Never gonna sideload anything with my personal dev account, not worth the risk

@alfiecg_dev Since iOS 26.0 Apple added more logging into sideloading and you need to be extremely careful. You are supposed to use random bundle ids (or at least append garbage to the bundle id) so it won't get flagged etc. Read more about PPQ checks

We need legislation on sideloading ASAP. Yesterday, I learned the hard way that I’m not allowed to use my own personal, paid developer certificate to sign IPAs I want to install on my own personal device. Wow. 😬

I ported mesa, libepoxy, pango, pdk-pixbuf, and gtk4 to Fil-C. They are now part of the memory safe Linux userland build. The best part: I did the last bit of porting while living on this desktop. Every program running on this box is memory safe except the kernel.

@fulligin @bilawalsidhu there must be a process to chisel the rough edges and convert this to BSP format

Fun fact: in the v early days of Coinbase we required applicants to answer riddles before hiring. Here's an example, see if you can solve it. I think we may have borrowed this question from @Airbnb. Always wondered whether we should bring these back...

Have you ever wanted to see Sutro Tower up close? Now you can! I'm releasing a very high quality model of the tower that you can easily fly through on your own, thanks to very cool developments in Gaussian splatting 🧵...

@rweichler @AvimanyuRoy3 if you're willing to swim in the muck that is a libc and how it glues to Fil-C's runtime, then you could help make it happen 💪💪💪

Here's an updated list of C/C++ programs that are totally memory safe because I ported then to Fil-C. In many cases they requires zero changes or just small cosmetic changes! - musl libc - libc++ (C++) - libc++abi (C++) - WG14 signals - libuev - icu4c (C++) - zlib - bzip2 - bzip3 - xzutils - pcre - pcre2 - jpeg-6b - ncurses (some C++) - libedit - openssl - curl - openssh - mg - tcl - sqlite - cpython - zsh - lua - simdutf (C++) - quickjs - simdjson (C++) - ada-url (C++) - libffi - zstandard - sudo That's not even counting stuff that other folks have gotten to work in Fil-C but that I haven't had a chance to include in my corpus. It's also not counting all of the various programming language shootout tests that just work in Fil-C.

Here's the (abandoned) repo where I started doing the FreeBSD port: github.com/pizlonator/piz… Note that there is corresponding (also abandoned and backed out) code in filc_runtime to support all of FreeBSD's syscalls via the Fil-C syscall virtualization. I even had code for the horrid ones like nfssvc 😆

@filpizlo @AvimanyuRoy3 x64 linux is probably the best platform to support, pretty easy to run in a VM, even on an arm64 mac. that being said is freebsd x64 supported? my custom test harness uses a freebsd vm and i havent had time to migrate to linux 😅

@AvimanyuRoy3 Arm64 is easy to support. Most of the logic is already there. Harder to support any OS that has a closed source userland.

macOS's tty impl (in the kernel) has a 1024 byte internal buffer limit for cooked mode. After that, writes succeed but the data is silently dropped. iTerm2 works around this by sleeping ~16ms between writes. My day is ruined and my disappointment is immeasurable.
