Don’t know enough re Tucker Carlson’s contacts but if he talked to Iranian officials as a journalist (he qualifies) that’s protected IMO and prosecution smacks of the political. If he talked to them believing he was an intermediary in peace talks, that’s murkier. Beyond that…

Of course CIA (or more likely the NSA) was reading his texts with Iranian officials. They monitor a whole swath of foreign officials emails, texts, DMs and phone calls. He should own that. It’s not the foreign agent registry he should be worried about. More the Espionage Act.
