Lions TE Sam LaPorta detailed the unfortunate series of events that led to back surgery. He suffered a fully herniated disk in the win over the Commanders. "I was hoping to get back in that 2-3-week range, not even going on IR. And then, in the days following the Commanders game, I was in a lot of pain, I was gimpy, I was walking like an 80-year-old man," he said. "I felt like surgery was the best route and the team thought that too." LaPorta believes he will be running by OTAs, and in pads by training camp.
